a bit about Annika

What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a digital designer/art director day time, drummer in a rockband, blogger, illustrator, dj and one of those people with a bunch of projects going on at the same time. And well, I do it because I can't resist it. Plain and simple.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?

One of my first summer jobs was at a summer café in my hometown. The pay wasn't good at all so I took some extra work cleaning the toilets at a festival one weekend. Although, that made me meet one of my best friends so I guess it wasn't all bad.

Were you born and raised in Stockholm? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Stockholm?

I grew up in the north of Sweden with the northern lights in the winter and never ending days during summer. I studied in two other cities here in Sweden before moving to Stockholm in 2011 for work, and fun!

What’s your current hood in Stockholm and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

I live in the middle of Södermalm surrounded by second hand shops, good food and atmosphere. On the negative side the second hand shops and the apartments are more expensive.

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?

Rock'n'indie'pop'soul'punk'n'roll! I have a hard time understanding any other genre. Techno? What is that even?

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

I put my speaker on the highest volume and listen to Jefferson Airplane - Somebody To Love on repeat.

Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?

Black Mirror, upsetting and interesting about technology, society and a near future.

Name some spots in Stockholm that are good for a Tinder date.

The last time I tried to go on a tinder date I was stood up and the guy told me his friend booked the date without him knowing (yeah, right). Anyway, I sat alone at a cozy bar called Söders Hjärta for a while, I would recommend that but please choose a date who'll show up. For a more active date I would love if someone asked me to go and play boule at Boulebar Tanto or go and try every ride at Gröna Lund (science even says you think people look better after a roller coaster ride).

Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).

The person who invented roasting.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

Small vintage boutiques + h&m and monki and more.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Some of the super posh clubs at Stureplan.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

Spend more time in roller coasters and the art museums.

Where do you go in Stockholm for a casual night out?

Carmen, Dovas or Hirschenkeller for a very unfancy beer!

Where would you go in Stockholm to celebrate some freaking good news?

If I don't pop a bottle on my own balcony I'd go to Folkbaren and do that or hope that Vita Kaninens Drinksällskap is mixing cocktails somewhere that night!

What’s your choice of transportation in Stockholm and why?

The subway is the fastest way to get around, I want to use my bike more though!

What are the Stockholm spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Go along Söder Mälarstrand to get a beautiful view over the water and the city centre on the other side.

What are the Stockholm spots tourists should run from screaming?

Avoid the main streets of Gamla Stan in the most touristy times!

Tomorrow’s your last day in Stockholm. How do you spend it?

I would sit in Tantolunden and have a picnic with my friends, then go to a concert or some pop club ending the night playing guitar on my balcony, if it's my last day the neighbors can't complain.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

I really loved Vienna! I had such a great time there.
