What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a proud clothing shop owner, I do it because it’s the greatest feeling in the world. Having your own space and freedom to do with it whatever you want. Who wants more?

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?

I was road worker for two days in the summer, bloody hot and I was carrying very heavy stones from A to B with a wheel barrow…. I was one of the hottest summers in the Netherlands.

Were you born and raised in Amsterdam? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Amsterdam?

I was born in Utrecht thats the 4th biggest city of the Netherlands, It’s in the middle. on a certain point I really felt Utrecht was to small for me. Amsterdam was huge in my imagination and full of creative and open minded people, partying was also very huge and different

What’s your current hood in Amsterdam and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

The Jordaan area, that’s near the nine streets, that is sometimes the negative part about it because sometimes it’s too busy, the best thing is that it’s full of nice coffee spots, restaurants and just in the middle of Amsterdam – Canals all over and enough nice terrace spots to enjoy the summer sun.

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?

In my shop you hear a lot of different styles of music, From Drake to The Whitest Boy Alive and David Bowie to Fatima Yamaha and Duke Ellington. I have music around me all day. I hate grunge!!!

You’re broken hearted – what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Oh G!… Ben Howard – Black Flies , Michael Prince – close to you ok I stop…No also Self Control by Frank Ocean.

Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?

Game of thrones, because its just the best… No it’s very original, the story line is so exciting! When your heart skipped a beat (The XX) by just watching television, then you know it’s good.

Name some spots in Amsterdam that are good for a Tinder date.

Oh wow I never did a tinder date… well I think, a more anonymous place like ‘Tolhuistuin’  ‘Adam toren’ or in the  lobby of Hotel-V.

Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).

Can It be American?…YES TRUMP! No, I am not that hateful, That’s a waste of time!

Who’s your hero and where in Amsterdam would you take them out for a serious hang?

It would be my father and grandfather who are both up-stairs (heaven) and place them on the couch in my shop, I will make some coffee for them and chill all day!

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?


Where do you go in Amsterdam for a casual night out?

City Centre Bars: Festina Lente (across my appartment) – Hoxton Hotel – Kopstootbar – Lion Noir (Pornstar Martini cocktail).

Where would you go in Amsterdam to celebrate some freaking good news?

The same places were I go just casually.

What’s your choice of transportation in Amsterdam and why?

bike Bike BIKE.

What are the Amsterdam spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Summer: Waterkant Bar “sit at the dock of the bay” Museum: Stedelijk and Rijks museum and off course order a cold beer and go sit at ‘Molenpad’ and watch all the boats passing by.

What are the Amsterdam spots tourists should run from screaming?

Heineken Experience, Dungeons bla bla, Madame Tussauds.

Tomorrow’s your last day in Amsterdam. How do you spend it?

A morning visit at Stedelijk Museum, an hour at Vondelgym to keep everything in shape, after gym time we go to Hoxton to drink a Spicy Bloody Marry and then a 9-course dinner at Restaurant Breda.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Berlin in summer, just the relaxed vibe, al the good food and Berlin’s nightlife!!!
