a bit about Lluís

What do you do and why do you do it?

I'm a photographer and I also work on video projects. I like to communicate with images and investigate aesthetics possibilities through the camera.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?

It wasn't bad at all. I like to learn of every work I do. But I would say my first summer job on a store. It was a little bit boring.

Were you born and raised in Barcelona? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Barcelona?

I was born in Girona, Northern Catalonia. When I was teenager I used to visit Barcelona expecting the things I didn't find in my town like great exhibitions, cool parties, good cinemas, street life... And finally I moved to Barcelona at 19 years old to study and here I'm. It's because of my job but also because of the city, of course.

What’s your current hood in Barcelona and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

Now I'm living in Born hood. The best thing is that I'm living in the city center and is close to the sea and Ciutadella park. The worst thing is... too crowded. Everybody loves Born, it's the ancient hood of Barcelona and the beauty of the streets.

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?

I love music. I use to listen music everyday and my playlists are random. I love electronic music of all times, pop, classical music... a lot of types. I don't hate any kind of music, I hate particular artists or songs.

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Songs of Brian Eno, Radiohead, Kate Bush, Talk Talk, Lou Reed, David Bowie...

Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?

Twin Peaks. Every image is spectacular and the synopsis is so, so great.

Name some spots in Barcelona that are good for a Tinder date.

Haha. Gimlet, a cocktail bar in Born. Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer gardens, in Montjuïc. And Phenomena cinema.

Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).

Donald Trump.

Who’s your hero and where in Barcelona would you take them out for a serious hang?

My hero is Brian Eno and I would go to Greek theatre with him to talk in a quiet and beautiful place.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

Second hand stores in Raval, of course.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Mmm... I don't know yet. Everyplace has something interesting.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

I do everything I love to do in my city!

Where do you go in Barcelona for a casual night out?

Some bars in Raval, Sant Antoni, Poble Sec, Born... Maybe at some club in the center like Sidecar or Marula. Is good to clubbing during the week.

Where would you go in Barcelona to celebrate some freaking good news?

I would go to 33-45 bar, in Raval.

What’s your choice of transportation in Barcelona and why?

By walk, of course! If not I take metro or bus.

What are the Barcelona spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Some Gaudí's buildings, Barceloneta, Santa Maria del Mar church and Montjuïc.

What are the Barcelona spots tourists should run from screaming?

Better to don't scream at all. In Barcelona locals love tourism but not unpolite people.

Tomorrow’s your last day in Barcelona. How do you spend it?

I will go to walk around at some nice hood like Poble Sec, Sant Antoni or Raval. Take lunch in a traditional restaurant to remember the last meal and enjoy the fresh air at the sea.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Istanbul. I love turkish culture and the city is amazing, full of contrasts and surrounded by the sea.
