What are the Brasilia spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

The Three Powers Square (with visit to Itamaraty), a quick afternoon snack at Vitamina Central, Cine Brasília, Igrejinha, and Dom Bosco Pizza; a sunset at Dom Bosco Hermitage.

Do’s and don’ts in Brasilia: (Ex: Tipping: yes/ no, public transport tips, safety tips etc.):

Standard tip is 10%, included in your bill; there's not much public transportation around here, so hitchhiking applications or even renting a car it's a great plan if you do not have a lot of time. In general, the pilot plan is a safe area, but it does not cost to keep yourself aware.

What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a lawyer, but I don't like courts and the tribunal environment, so I only do advisory on anticorruption compliance and ethics matters. I fell in love with this field and have a huge willingness to help my country to reduce corruption.

How much do you spend on an average night out on the town?

Around 40 to 70 reais.

Your all-time favorite musicians:

Miles Davis, David Bowie, Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood, Jimi Hendrix, Damon Alburn, David Sitek, Kim Gordon, Lou Reed, Kendrick Lamar, David Gilmore, Bobby McFerrin, Bob Marley, Danger Mouse, James Murphy, Tom Zé, Rita Lee, Chico Science, Tim Maia.

What’s the one place in Brasilia you think is underrated?

Pauliceia Bar and Restaurant. Best feijoada in the city, but the look of the dirty bar and the low price are a little shocking to the most talented (or uppish) clientele. It is not as famous as its quality.

Drunk and hungry - where do you go in Brasilia?

Pizzaria Dom Bosco, Pizzaria Molho de Tomate, Nação Hot Dog, Skys Burger

Your go-to brunch spots:

Brunch at the Botanic Gardens is really cool because of the atmosphere, but in terms of food, the Bellini bakery and Daniel Briand are still the two favorite places.

Which local creators do you admire?

Two local bands I love: Humbold and Cachimbó.

Special views that mainstream tourists don't know about:

Vista do Santuário da Mãe Rainha Três Vezes Admirável de Schoenstatt

Best place for a cheap bite on-the-go:

Pastelaria Viçosa

You’re meeting the mayor of Brasilia - what constructive criticism would you give them?

Um bom sistema de transporte público, que seja frequente e perto dos principais pontos turísticos.
