a bit about Agata
What do you do and why do you do it?
I'm an Experience Designer, because I like when things to work the way you expect them to. I'm passionate about creating enjoyable experiences - from well laid out books, easily navigable websites and apps and dining experiences that leave you wanting to come back again and again.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?
Probably making dry flower garlands for £5 an hour in a badly ventilated shed with no windows! I enjoyed the work, but the conditions were shockingly bad. I don't really dwell on the past though!
Were you born and raised in Brighton? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Brighton?
I was born and grew up in Poland, but came to Brighton in search of creativity and to work for Brighton Festival .
What’s your current hood in Brighton and what’s the best/worst thing about it?
Seven Dials - it's far away from the city to have that village feel, but it's only a 10min walk away when you do need your matcha fix in the lanes.
What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?
Hate is a strong word - I guess it depends on the definition of music, but I don't think I hate any genre!
You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?
Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?
Monty Python's Flying Circus!
Name some spots in Brighton that are good for a Tinder date.
Small Batch in the lanes...? But I wouldn't know ;)
Who’s your hero and where in Brighton would you take them out for a serious hang?
I reckon a trip to the pier rides would be awesome with Cate Blanchett.
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
Vintage/Charity shops fused with a bit of high street.
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
West Street on a Friday night!
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
Show friends around!
Where do you go in Brighton for a casual night out?
Any of the pubs in the lanes, Basketmakers would be a safe bet.
Where would you go in Brighton to celebrate some freaking good news?
Food for Friends
What’s your choice of transportation in Brighton and why?
Bike - it's the quickest way to get around
What are the Brighton spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
The Pier of course!
What are the Brighton spots tourists should run from screaming?
There are some shady bars around, but it generally really nice here.
Tomorrow’s your last day in Brighton. How do you spend it?
Long walk on the seafront, coffee at Small Batch in Norfolk Square, shop for food supplies at Taj, lunch at the open market. Maybe catch a show at the Brighton Dome.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
Krakow in Poland - I love revisiting it, every time I go I discover a new cool cafe or an underground bar and interesting exhibition. There's so much live music there as well - it's a real cultural feast.
