a bit about Dana
What do you do and why do you do it?
I am a Social Media Manager. I love that I find myself communicating a lot, which is exactly what I like to do.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?
For a brief period of time I was an accountant and it wasn’t the worst, but it was just very dull. I like the spirit that’s in the communication zone.
Were you born and raised in Bucharest?
I wasn’t born and raised in Bucharest, but in Bacau, a city that’s 300 km away from Bucharest. I came to the capital city to study Economics and ended up working in an advertising agency.
What’s your current hood in Bucharest and what’s the best/worst thing about it?
I live in Colentina (hood) and it’s very much alive and nice. I still dream of living in Cotroceni, which is a very nice hood, but Colentina offers me a variety of people to see every day.
What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?
I listen to pop & dance music. Sometimes a bit of trance and rock, but it really depends on my mood. I kinda dislike folklore music.
You’re broken hearted – what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?
I’d listen to “The Weeknd” all day long.
Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?
“Friends” is one of my favourite TV Shows because it’s funny and witty and makes you enjoy friendship more. “The Good wife” and “Fringe” are, again, very good, because they have very good actors and great scripts.
Name some spots in Bucharest that are good for a Tinder date.
Tucano Coffee, FIX – botanical bar.
Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).
Who’s your hero and where in Bucharest would you take them out for a serious hang?
My hero. Hmmm. I really like Thor and I would take him to Drunken Lords. For the good music, obviously.
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
Mega Mall is awesome. Peek, Mango and sometimes Zara.
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
Drumul Taberei. Because they don’t have a subway line and it’s pretty far away from where I live.
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
Where do you go in Bucharest for a casual night out?
Simple: in the centre of the city, where the old city is.
Where would you go in Bucharest to celebrate some freaking good news?
I would go to Modelier for one of the best (if not the best) burgers in town.
What’s your choice of transportation in Bucharest and why?
I use all of them, but the most casual (and they also have AC) one is the subway.
What are the Bucharest spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
Victoriei Boulevard in all it’s glory, Cismigiu Park & Gardens and George Enescu Museum.
What are the Bucharest spots tourists should run from screaming?
Two neighbourhoods: Ferentari & Rahova. Just don’t go there.
Tomorrow’s your last day in Bucharest. How do you spend it?
I would start my day with a coffee at Origo, cause it’s the best in the city and people always smile to you. Then I’d eat a bagel while photographing the streets around the center of the city.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
I really liked Spello, a small city in Umbria, Italy (near Florence). Just google it and you’ll see why it was love at first sight.
