Do’s and don’ts in Cape Town: (Ex: Tipping: yes/ no, public transport tips, safety tips etc.):

Always ask a local, especially a person of colour, in some cases (It does actually matter as you will get different insights into different areas from different people). Generally, foreigners want to explore the 'real' Cape Town and not just the usual tourist spots, then you may need to speak to a number of people from different backgrounds, cultures and races. Don't believe everything you've heard about the crime and danger, YES it exists and it can be bad in certain areas, but context is important - Travel on the train only when there are others on board. Don't go hiking alone.
