I am a Fashion + Lifestyle blogger and also an RN in pediatrics and Labor & Delivery.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?
Hmm, can't think of anything that was too bad.
Were you born and raised in Chicago? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Chicago?
I was not born and raised in Chicago, but I have lived here for 11 years. I am originally from Kansas.
What’s your current hood in Chicago and what’s the best/worst thing about it?
Steeterville, it is close to EVERYTHING, especially shopping and the lakefront!
What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?
I love my pop music-Gaga, Madonna, MJ but I also love new music, and anything live! Not my favorite-country!
You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?
Say Something-A Great Big World, Someone Like You-Adele, Jar of Hearts-Christina Perri, Photograph-Ed Sheeran, Never Say Never-The Fray, Over My Head-The Fray, You Found Me-The Fray, Need the Sun to Break-James Bay Say You Won't Let Go-James Arthur, You & I-One Direction, What Hurts the Most-Rascal Flatts, A Little Too Much-Shawn Mendes, Already Gone-Kelly Clarkson, Vienna-The Fray...I could go on and on, I've been here one too many times.
Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?
Sex and the City-the fashion!
Name some spots in Chicago that are good for a Tinder date.
Haha, I don't Tinder but I would suggest not going somewhere you like or frequent in case the date doesn't work out. You don't want anyone stalking you at your favorite spots!
Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).
I already get to see it often, especially on SNL.
Who’s your hero and where in Chicago would you take them out for a serious hang?
I have a few but maybe Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. I'm not sure where I would take her, maybe for a glass of champagne somewhere. I just want to know what she was like to be around.
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
My go to shops are usually Zara and H&M for trendy items. Asos.com also has some good pieces. I love vintage shopping and for basics I usually head to Nordstrom or Neimans. Then there are the luxury shops: Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Christian Louboutin, etc.
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
Um, well I would actually have to say the suburbs, sorry friends who live there!
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
I feel pretty lucky in that I usually have time to do the things I love here!
Where do you go in Chicago for a casual night out?
I love Quartino, it is a small plates Italian restaurant and the scene is always lively regardless of the day of week. I love their prosecco and they serve it in a frosted glass. The pizzas are delicious and perfect to share. I have also recently discovered their cappuccino, amazing! Chicago isn't really know for cafes so finding a good cappuccino outside of Starbucks isn't necessarily an easy feat.
Where would you go in Chicago to celebrate some freaking good news?
I love Siena Tavern. They serve my favorite wine, so obviously bottles would be in order for a celebration. It is one of my current favorite spots for dinner, everything I have had there is fantastic. I would suggest the octopus, kale salad and squid ink linguini! For dessert, the tiramisu and bombolini-to die for sugared donuts!
What’s your choice of transportation in Chicago and why?
I prefer the 'L', Uber or Lyft. I don't own a car and in the cold months I don't have to wait for my car to warm up, I just hop in an already warm ride! I also don't need to worry about parking and can get dropped off right at the front door every time, very important when wearing stilettos out for the night!
What are the Chicago spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
The Bean, Buckingham Fountain, and an Architectural Boat Tour down the River.
What are the Chicago spots tourists should run from screaming?
Even though I live near Navy Pier, I avoid it like the plague. In the Summer it is packed with double wide strollers and tourists! I would say the only reason to go there would be to board a boat tour or cruise. Although I will note that the Pier does have open container so you can walk around and enjoy a cold crisp beer in the Summer heat!
Tomorrow’s your last day in Chicago. How do you spend it?
I would start with a run along the Lakefront, then a boozy brunch with friends at Beatrix, True Food Kitchen or Rockit. Then I would get glam for a night out with my girls!
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
Right now, it is Barcelona. It is beautiful, is on the coast and I love the Spanish culture of tapas and late night dinners.
