What are the Houston spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
Buffalo Bayou Park, Discovery Green, The Galleria and all of Houston's amazing restaurants.
What do you do and why do you do it?
I work for an international PR firm, and I do it because I love introducing the world to new startups.
How much do you spend on an average night out on the town?
For a nice dinner and drinks, usually around $200 for a couple.
Which Houston shops do you hit up when you’re itching for something new?
Chardé, Baanou, Abejas and Tootsies.
Your all-time favorite musicians:
Jessie Ware, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Petit Biscuit, Guns N' Roses.
Which neighborhood is it best to experience during the day / night?
Unfortunately, Houston doesn't have a ton of "walkable" neighborhoods, but the Heights and Rice University/Village are great during the day and the Upper Kirby and Montrose areas are great at night.
What’s the one place in Houston you think is underrated?
Easily, Carrabba's. Everywhere else in the U.S., Carrabba's is a chain restaurant with mediocre food and service, but in Houston, we have the original location, still owned by the Carrabba family. Everything from the food to the service and the ambience is amazing! Order the Shrimp Osiel (not on the menu).
Where would you take a date for a romantic night out?
Dinner at Tiny's No. 5!
Drunk and hungry - where do you go in Houston?
Whataburger... I can't help myself.
It's freeeeezing out - what should a visitor do?
If it's Christmas time, grab some hot chocolate and drive around River Oaks to look at the holiday lights and decorations. Easily my favorite winter-time activity in Houston.
Where do you take your guest when you want to impress?
Dinner at B&B Butchers, Mastro's Steakhouse or BCN Taste & Tradition.
Your go-to brunch spots:
Tiny Boxwoods, Tiny's No. 5, Brasserie 19, Backstreet Café.
Your perfect night out in Houston includes:
Happy hour at the Oyster Bar at State of Grace, dinner at B&B Butchers, after dinner drinks at H Bar, Captain Foxhearts or the upstairs bar at Le Colonial.
Which local creators do you admire?
My father, Philip Robbins (builder), Katherine Price (art), Charles Clark (chef + restauranteur), Grant Cooper (restauranteur), Cliff Hybarger (jeweler), Sage Coralli (blogger), Carrie Colbert (blogger), Dror Zadok (jeweler).
Best place for a cheap bite on-the-go:
Torchy's Tacos or Antone's Po' Boys.
Tomorrow’s your last day in Houston. How do you spend it?
Restaurant hopping... how many meals can I eat in one day?
You’re meeting the mayor of Houston - what constructive criticism would you give them?
Further development of Downtown Houston.
