What do you do and why do you do it?
I'm doing communications. From event organizing to user research and strategies. I've spent 2+ years at Google, helping businesses get their clients. Now I'm consulting companies as an independent specialist. I really enjoy meeting new people and connecting them. Love good food, books and jazz music. Big coffee fan, so you would probably see me in the city centre, heading for a perfect flat white.
What are the best TV shows of all time?
Friends, definitely. I couldn't count how many times I've watched all episodes.
Name some spots in Kiev that are good for a Tinder date.
If you want to have a good ice-braking date, you should go to a good bar. Parovoz Speak Easy, Pink Freud, To Be, Alchemist Bar - Kiev are good choices.
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
Biking. I live in the city centre, so walk everywhere by foot or take public transport. Riding a bicycle in a park or near Dnieper river is such a pleasure. Should definitely do it more often.
Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Kiev that you particularly like?
There is a really nice bar called Loggerhead. It's located in the city centre near Taras Shevchenko Boulevard (I've added it to the map). You need to walk into the yard, knock metallic door and then the guard will let you in. They have, probably, best bartenders in the city and a wide range of special coctails. You should try :)
What restaurant in Kiev looks crap, but the food’s amazing?
Chinese food. There is one, called Kitaika - super delicious, which you would not tell straight away looking at the building.
Where can you get the best cocktail in Kiev? Which one do you like?
I'm a fan of gin-based coctails, like negroni. Pink Freud, Loggerhead, PR bar, Barmen Dictate - nice ones to stay for a drink/
Where would you take your partner in Kiev if you wanted to really pamper them?
I love good food. We have huge options of different cousins: from traditional to something exotic. I likeBAO, Barvy, Vino e Cucina, Tres Francais - for a great evening.
Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?
You should try national food, we have lots of soups and meat dishes. Borshch - is a traditional beetroot soup with meat, varenyky - a little bit dumplings-style (could be with meat, potato, cherries etc). I highly recommend both.
What are the Kiev spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
Old Podil district. It is really nice for a walk as well as lots of sightseeing places: old yards, churches, murals, nice cafes.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
Como in Italy. I like Italy in general: extremely emotional people, nice coffee, aperol, huge portions of pasta. It has an incredible chill vibe that is hard to reproduce somewhere else.
