What do you do and why do you do it?

I'm a business analyst and have been working in management consulting since the beginning of my career, right after graduation from ESADE business school. I'm mostly working in the area of startups and innovations, and I love it, because I find very exciting to work with new innovative businesses. This makes you learn something new every day and your work almost never gets "routine".

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Not specifically for a heartbreak, but just a few sad songs I like: Maroon 5 - Cold, Nothing but thieves - Sorry, Adele - When we were young, Jerome Price - Me minus you. But the best cure - just listen to reggaeton and your sadness will be gone, promise!

What are the best TV shows of all time?

Gossip girl! But to be honest I'm not a TV shows fan, I try to avoid them not to get addicted haha :) But okay, one day I will finally watch Game of thrones!

Name some spots in Kiev that are good for a Tinder date.

Not sure how a place for a Tinder date should be different from a place for a normal date... But I would suggest going to the wine bar, e.g. Like a Local's, Vian, Bottega, Win bar.

Who’s your hero and where in Kiev would you take them out for a serious hang?

I don't have heros, but if I had a chance to meet a person I admire (some successful entrepreneurs, actors or other public figures), I would make them a full-day excursion in Kiev and would ask loads of questions about their profession.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

I have many favorite brands, starting from spanish Zara and finishing with italian Miu Miu. But recently I started to be more patriotic and I buy many ukrainian clothes and accessories. So I would definitely recommend checking out stores in Kyiv: Vsi svoi (right on Khreschatyk street), Kvartira 31 (small shop next to Maidan sqare, only for girls!), Fidelitti (bags, this you can check online), or for more upscale fashion: Elena Burba, Anna K, the COAT.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Good Wine store.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

Well, I usually try to get everything that I really LOVE doing :) But I can say that I wish I had more time and opportunities to do more wakesurfing and wakeboarding, as well as going to cultural events more often (concerts, shows, theatre plays etc.).

What’s the most decadent / extreme dish you ever ate in Kiev and where did you get it?

Well, I heard that you can get fried insects at the Chinese restaurant called Kitaysky privet, but I'm more conservative in this regard. Talking about local Ucrainian food, one of the most weird dishes you can get is a dessert "salo in chocolate" which means you will get a peace of fatty ham (white part) with chocolate - it has salty-sweet taste. You can also ask an extreme drink for that - hrenovuha - a very strong vodka with super bitter taste. You will most probable cry after that, but you will be definitely perceived as a hero! :)

Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Kiev that you particularly like?

There are so many cool bars in Kiev... Barmen Diktat (speakeasy bar with live music), Parovoz (another speakeasy bar with no loud music, hence quiet), Alchemist bar (bar with amazing cocktails and a dancefloor, electro/funky music). But these all are mostly "cool" places. If you want something more student-like, go to the bar Drunk Cherry on Khreschatyk street (behind the arch) and try their home-made strong liquors.

What’s the most expensive restaurant / spa / hotel you’ve ever been to in Kiev? How much did it cost and what did you get there?

Rooftop bars in the InterContinental Hotel and also Hyatt Regency Hotel. I just drank cocktails there, which are 2 times more expensive than in the coolest bars in Kyiv. But the view... the view is worth it!

What restaurant in Kiev looks crap, but the food’s amazing?

Puzata Hata - its a chain of cheap restaurants with Ukrainian national food - looks simple and it's like a buffet, but the quality is actually very decent. Still, I would recommend to go to other Ukrainian restaurants, check them on my map!

Where can you get the best cocktail in Kiev? Which one do you like?

In my humble opinion (and so far I visited 51 countries...), Kyiv has one of the best cocktail culture! There are so many cool bars here, and the competition is super intense! So my suggestions would be: Alchemist bar (truly BEST cocktails, they have very big meny and coctails with any type of alcohol), N:B Cocktails bar (very authentic place), Loggerhead (hidden underground bar), Parovoz speak easy (also hidden and underground, the most chill and quiet bar from all listed), Dogs&Tails (hip-hop party each Friday).

Where would you take your partner in Kiev if you wanted to really pamper them?

Rooftop bar! For example Mur Mur - restaurant and bar.

Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?

Kyivska Perepichka - it's a kind of fried hot dog... Pretty simple junk food, but somehow became super famous! Located on the corner of Khreschatyk and Bohdana Khmel'nyts'koho street (opposite Tsum department store).

What’s the one place you think is overrated in Kiev?

The Cake. It'a place for breakfasts and desserts, and it's actually very pretty and nice, but I can't say that the food is that good... But you can go there if you love macaroons and other desserts, they are good.

What’s the one place you think is underrated in Kiev?

Khutorec na Dnipri - Ukrainian restaurant on the river. They have even a vodka museum there!

What are the Kiev spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Maidan square - main central square of the city; Sofiyska square - the most beautiful spot! You should go upstairs the Bell tower of Saint Sophia's Cathedral. On Cristmas time you will find the main Christmas market there; Kiev Pechersk Lavra - the main church of Ukraine; and finally - the most impressive - The Motherland Monument! Go upstairs to see the breathtaking view! And if you like museums - check out National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War! It's truly impressive.

Tomorrow’s your last day in Kiev. How do you spend it?

It doesn't matter where - it matters with who! I think I will just gather my closest friends and we would go to some bar to talk, drink and dance. A couple of years ago before leaving for my Masters I made my farawell party in Caribbean club, the best place in Kyiv to dance.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Barcelona! My second home, where I did my Masters! I go there every couple of months... Mostly for vacation, so it is actually my top visited place for vacation :)
