What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a partnerships, PR & events executive at Swiss International Air Lines in Geneva. I just love travelling so I am really glad to work for an airline company, and even more that it is the national one with great values such as quality, hospitality and nice little touches to make the journey even more comfortable. And after having backpacked around Hawaii, Japan and South East Asia for 1 year, that was the perfect job for me!

Who’s your hero and where in Lausanne would you take them out for a serious hang?

My hero would be Lawrence Anthony who wrote "The elephant whisperer" and was the owner of a game reserve in South Africa. He had this amazing connection with wild elephants and was so respectful to the nature and the animals. He didn't want to make them as pets and recognized wild animals have to remain wild. I just cried when I finished his book and learnt that he passed away a few years ago (and I am not the kind of crying girl ^^). If he were with me in Lausanne, I would just take him on the Fox Trail from Epalinges to the lakeside, talking with him surrounded by nature.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

I must say... I don't like to waste too much money on clothes (I'd rather save my savings for traveling :)) so H&M and Pull&Bear!

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

"Le Mad" discotheque

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

I love having apéro at "Le Bar Tabac", the owners are so nice and friendly ; I would love to be able to go more to this great bar.

What’s the most decadent / extreme dish you ever ate in Lausanne and where did you get it?

I ate a fondue by the lakeside, with friends sitting in the grass, when it was 30 degrees :) We swiss people love our cheese ;-)

Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Lausanne that you particularly like?

I love a view you can have on the Cathedral and the lake when you climb up on a hidden path close to a school in my neighborhood.

What’s the most expensive restaurant / spa / hotel you’ve ever been to in Lausanne? How much did it cost and what did you get there?

It was Le Palace, just spent a night with my ex-boyfriend... The room was amazing with a great bath tub :) They have a spa as well ; it was worth it!

What restaurant in Lausanne looks crap, but the food’s amazing?

Le Simplon : they don't decorate the place much, but really friendly atmosphere thanks to the waiters, the beer is good and the food really yummy for a good price!

Where can you get the best cocktail in Lausanne? Which one do you like?

For sure : "Le Comptoir", after one, you'll definitely have giggles... ^^And I am more a beer/wine kind of person, but sometimes a Long Island Ice Tea can be quite nice!

Where would you take your partner in Lausanne if you wanted to really pamper them?

I would take him to the Sunday brunch at Musée Olympique where the buffet is just awesome, as well as the lake view. Then we would walk along the lake, just admiring the awesome landscape and then we'd stop for a beer on the roof top of Hotel Savoy.

Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?

I'd go for an ovomaltine bar, full of energy, malt and chocolate!

What’s the one place you think is overrated in Lausanne?

The Flon neighborhood, designed for tourists and young party goers but which hasn't any atmosphere and where everything is quite expensive!

What’s the one place you think is underrated in Lausanne?

The Jasmin restaurant, quite far away from the center, with no really fancy decoration but where you can eat the best Vietnamese dishes!

What are the Lausanne spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

The Cathedral and its view, the Palud Place, the Montbenon Esplanade, the lakeside in Ouchy, the Hermitage Museum & Park, the Elysée Museum & Park, the Sauvabelin Tower

Tomorrow’s your last day in Lausanne. How do you spend it?

I start by walking around my neighborhood "Marterey" and the Cathedral and then I would climb up to the Sauvabelin tower and admire the awesome view on the whole city, I walk around its pond to see the animals and then I go to the Sallaz neighborhood to walk down the "fox trail" which goes down to the lakeside. I just sit down and admire the lake and the facing French mountains. I call some friends and we go stand up paddling before drinking apéro at Bar Tabac. We go then eating to my favorite restaurant Simplon and go dancing to "No Name" !

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Even if I am more a "nature" girl, I absolutely love Lisbon and its friendly atmosphere, with its hills where you can admire the city. The fact that it is close to the ocean just makes it a great vacation city. The buildings are absolutely stunning as well.
