Felisa’s top local gems in London

Travel is today what the Macarena was in the 90s – everybody’s doing it. Cool Cousin is all about helping travelers make the most of their time and their dime while abroad, but not at the expense of locals who fear the changes in their urban surroundings brought on by rapid tourist influx. We believe that strengthening beloved local businesses can help preserve unique city vibes, so instead of hitting up them multinational chain stores and restaurants, here are some off the beaten track spots that locals love in London.

Owl Bookshop has been in Kentish since I was born. It's one of the last few remaining shops here, from my childhood. It's a great independent bookstore, and you can find little souvenirs of Kentish Town as well!

I loveeeeeee this place so much. The food is delicious, I can't handle spice though, so if you're like me, lose the pride and ask for it a little less hot. It's great when you find places that are Veggie/Vegan friendly, and it's not just a sad portobello mushroom, it's actually decent food!
