a bit about Xavier

What are you working on these days?

In Ibiza opening the Experimental Beach for a new season, tasting the new menus and applying a few tweaks on it there and then with our chef’s team. Back home to London this afternoon launching Vulson Old Rhino Rye, a new organic Rye Whisky, with a group of farmers from the French Alps. In between applying the final touch to Super Brick, our motorbike garage & studio… Ah, there is also that cool project in Covent Garden with my partners at the Experimental Cocktail Club that should land in London very, very soon… work in progress!!

What drives you mad these days?

Inefficiency, dishonesty and people that waste your time… simply because this is not acceptable!

What makes you happy?

Blue sky, blue sea.

When was the last time you cried?

Cant remember… usually if I am watching the news…

What’s your latest musical obsession?

Christine & the Queens.

What was the last movie you watched? Was it any good?

The last James Bond… not really that good but entertaining!

When it’s time for a new wardrobe, where do you go?

Son of a Stag, Truman Brewery, East London.

What’s your go-to café in London?

My garage/studio Super Brick on Brick Lane.

What’s your favorite street or neighborhood to wander through?

Gerrard Street, Chinatown.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in London but never actually do?

Go swim at the Lido.

Who’s your hero (dead or alive) and where would you take them to show them a good time?

Michael Caine, we’d go to my local cafe for a cuppa just to hang out, because I could only see myself do that with Michael, that would be proper, a good chat with a cuppa and Sir Michael!

If it’s been raining outside for days and you’re sick of staying in – where would you go?

Joyeux Bordel on Curtain Road, put a good vinyl on and pour myself a rum…

What’s that place in London you feel like only you know about?

Can’t tell you… wouldn’t be secret anymore… actually already told too many people and everyone knows, Sunbury Antics, Kempton Park, a Summer Tuesday 6.30am… it is a very special place if you like antics, curiosities & interesting people!

If tomorrow was your last day in London before you left for good, how and where would you spend it?

Easy. Dinner at Rules with the wife and a good bottle of champagne finished by Martini’s at Dukes and a good night sleep at the Savoy.

Given the choice, mayor of which neighborhood would you be?

What’s the spot in London you wouldn’t be caught dead in?

Leicester Square or Oxford Street.

You’ve just received the best news ever. Where would you go to celebrate and with whom?

With the crew probably at home drinking a lot of champagne…

What’s the thing you love doing that isn’t work, relationship or family related?

Riding old motorbikes.

When you feel like a night out, what’s your go-to place and why?

Experimental Cocktail Club Chinatown or Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels or Happiness Forgets, catch up with the crew working there so they share with me what are the best new places in London to go check out on the night.
