What do you do and why do you do it?

Visual merchandising - it's the art and science of selling not only a product, but also an experience.

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Lots of Bon Iver, The Tallest Man on Earth, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, and Jose Gonzalez. And maybe a little Jewel.

What are the best TV shows of all time?

Game of Thrones, Friday Night Lights, Deadwood, True Blood, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Arrested Development

Name some spots in Los Angeles that are good for a Tinder date.

Old Man Bar, Oldfields Liquor Room, The Lincoln, The Chestnut Club

Who’s your hero and where in Los Angeles would you take them out for a serious hang?

I would love to take Bill Clinton to Hawkin's House of Burgers. The place would be packed and he would be working the crowd, ever the life of the party.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

The brands I gravitate towards in my closet are Topshop, Everlane, Aritzia, and lululemon, although I prefer the experience of shopping at boutiques because each store has its own personality and carefully curated assortment. I love seeing a small business owner's vision come to life.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

I'll go anywhere, but I have an unreasonable fear of being held captive by Tom Cruise at the Celebrity Scientology Center.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

Enjoy scenic (or even not-so-scenic) drives without traffic. In LA, traffic is the string that's always attached.

What’s the most decadent / extreme dish you ever ate in Los Angeles and where did you get it?

Decadent: Lobster Mac and Cheese at Mastro's

Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Los Angeles that you particularly like?

Old Man Bar (inside Hatchet Hall). I could hide out there forever.

What’s the most expensive restaurant / spa / hotel you’ve ever been to in Los Angeles? How much did it cost and what did you get there?

The 10-course tasting menu at Mélisse

What restaurant in Los Angeles looks crap, but the food’s amazing?

Hawkin's House of Burgers

Where can you get the best cocktail in Los Angeles? Which one do you like?

The Tasting Kitchen in Venice. Order the Easy Money or Mezcal Margarita.

Where would you take your partner in Los Angeles if you wanted to really pamper them?

Alchemie Spa in Santa Monica. It's the perfect urban oasis.

Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?

Extra Toasty Cheeze-Its, Zapp's Cajun Crawtators, Golden Oreos, and pretty much anything from Trader Joe's.

What’s the one place you think is overrated in Los Angeles?

Mr. Chow

What’s the one place you think is underrated in Los Angeles?

SOUTHEND

What are the Los Angeles spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

The Getty Center, The Broad, Venice Beach + Abbot Kinney, Griffith Observatory, and catching a concert at The Greek Theatre.

Tomorrow’s your last day in Los Angeles. How do you spend it?

I would start my day with a walk along the beach with my dog and a coffee from Menotti's. We would pile in the car with friends + breakfast burritos from Tacos Por Favor, and caravan up the coast to Carbon Beach, Malibu. After a day in the sun and in the sand, we would clean up and head to Charcoal Venice for burgers and Midnight Margaritas.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Venice, Italy during the Film Festival and Biennale. I love the juxtaposition of contemporary art set against the backdrop of this beautiful, old city.
