What do you do and why do you do it?
I'm a social media manager and graphic designer. I do it because I love great design and designing my own stuff and I love sharing with people! I lucked out and work for a really amazing company - Mythical Entertainment. I've been with them for nearly 4 years and I love it.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?
I was a paper delivery girl in middle school. It's not like the movies where you just throw a paper at someone's lawn. You have to add all the advertising flyers into each paper and bring them up to each individual mailbox. Doing this + being an angsty teen = not a great combo, haha.
Were you born and raised in Los Angeles? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Los Angeles?
Nope! I grew up in Alberta, Canada, actually. I moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Yale in 2013. I studied film, so moving to LA seemed like the right choice. It turned out to be a great choice.
What’s your current hood in Los Angeles and what’s the best/worst thing about it?
I live in Burbank right now. I used to live in the mid-city area and it was very, very busy. Burbank is great because it's a quiet part of LA that is still close to everything I want to do. The only things Burbank is lacking are my favorite coffee shop, Alfred, and my favorite salad shop, Sweetgreen.
What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?
I listen to all different kinds - it depends on my mood. My number one is K.Flay - definitely look her up. I can't stand music that just sounds like a clash of bad noises. Interpret that how you want, haha.
You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?
All Dashboard Confessional, most likely.
Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?
Parks and Recreation - Every cast member brings SO much to each episode. The writing is beautiful. I am sad there's no more. Hysterical. Bob's Burgers - a fantastic cartoon. Again, I love how every single character is so perfectly written.
Name some spots in Los Angeles that are good for a Tinder date.
UCB comedy show. Walking around Santa Monica. Hike Griffith Park.
Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).
Oprah. I feel like she would have hilarious reactions and responses. Disclaimer: I freakin' love Oprah.
Who’s your hero and where in Los Angeles would you take them out for a serious hang?
The Rock. Any gym. I wanna lift with him!!!
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
Forever 21, Vans, Cotton On, Madewell.
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
I'm not sure a place like that exists.
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
Go to the beach :(
Where do you go in Los Angeles for a casual night out?
A barcade - EightyTwo!
Where would you go in Los Angeles to celebrate some freaking good news?
One of the restaurants on my extensive list. First up would be Plant in Venice!
What’s your choice of transportation in Los Angeles and why?
Car. Whether I'm driving or it's Lyft - it's the only/best way to get around.
What are the Los Angeles spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
Griffith Observatory. The Beach. Mulholland Drive overlook.
What are the Los Angeles spots tourists should run from screaming?
Just...stay away from Hollywood & Highland. It's not worth it. The stars on the ground aren't that cool. (And it smells like pee over there)
Tomorrow’s your last day in Los Angeles. How do you spend it?
Start with a sunrise hike to Griffith Observatory. Eat breakfast at Cofax. Get a coffee at Alfred. Do some sort of workout class. Head over to Malibu and chill out on the beach (with a picnic of course). Watch the sunset at Point Dume. Eat a big seafood dinner.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
Everywhere. I love new places.
