The hottest spot in town right now. Always surrounded with paparazzi for a reason. Surprisingly, it's not only beautiful (the whole restaurant is basically a roof top) and trendy but also incredibly delicious. Sea bass and truffle pasta is to die for, I'm not even exaggerating.

Whenever friends or family plan a visit, I immediately make a reservation for Perch. It's a rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking Pershing square in the heart of downtown LA. Perch has great dinner and weekend brunch, but be sure to make a reservation in advance! If you can't make it for dinner or brunch, come for the drinks. They have live music on the lower level and a great cocktail bar on the top level. The upstairs bar opens at 1pm on the weekend and stays open til 2am. Follow the birds in the elevators!

You can count on Rose Cafe to consistently deliver a great dining experience no matter the meal or the hour. This is my go-to spot for group dinners because there is something for everyone on the menu (including options for those with dietary restrictions).

Drawing inspiration from the American South, Hatchet Hall's menu changes daily based on available fresh produce and features some of the best "American" cuisine in LA. The decor is cozy yet refined and their beautiful space offers indoor and outdoor seating options. After dinner, head back to Old Man Bar -- tucked behind the main dining room -- for a nightcap.

This place is great for happy hour and dinner. They have great drink and food specials on the happy hour menu and the bar area is quite large. There is also nice outdoor seating right on the water in the marina. If you enjoy spice I would go with the Original but if you don't like getting your hands dirty then go with the Shelled. I would definitely grab the lobster mac and cheese for an appetizer.

Amazing bolognese along with lamb sausage can easily make your night. These guys are best in the business when it comes to a chic Italian place that is equally good for a business meeting as well as a family style hearty delicious dinner. Free valet after 6 PM if I'm not mistaken.

Tsujita LA and its annex location right across the street, are favorites of LA ramen enthusiasts who swear by their tsukemen, or dip-style, noodles. You'll most probably have to wait to get in, but its worth it.

Faith & Flower was on the Zagat's Guide: Most Stylish Restaurant in LA list, so last year my Husband and I had an anniversary dinner here, and I can't wait to make it a ritual. The atmosphere and decor are perfect for an intimate dinner. It felt like we stepped into the 1920's. Especially with the green glass nod to their popular Absinthe Tastings. The menu, which offers seafood and leans towards Italian was delicious. The service, personal & professional. You'll need to make a reservation if you want a table, but if dining alone, I suggest sitting at the long Bar where you'll meet a host of interesting local characters.

This place is gorgeous! It won the BEST RESTAURANT DESIGN by the Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design in 2016. District's Design Philosophy, "Mirrors its deliciously unexpected approach to food and drink. The resulting atmosphere is a marvellously curated art meets craft, past meets future vibe that is wholly enticing and utterly original." I've only been here for lunch and had the Vietnamese Style French Dip OMGawddd... It was delicious! That said, I can't wait to go back for dinner, I can only imagine what the room looks like with those fabulous lighting fixtures all fired up.
