The place to go if you're a Street Photographer, or just like to see interesting and weird people. Venice Beach is like Hollywood Blvd with sand and the ocean, minus the characters in costumes and stars on the sidewalk. There's so many things to see here, Muscle Beach where big guys are working out, the basketball courts from White Men Can't Jump, the graffiti wall, skateboard park, crazy homeless people, street vendors selling weird stuff, street performers, and a few regular people who live nearby. It's a nice place to walk along the boardwalk get a coffee or snack at one of the restaurants right on the beach.

9am to 5pm every Sunday at the high school on the corner of Melrose and Fairfax, there's a giant outdoor flea market that sells everything from jewelry and clothing, to movie posters, plants, furniture, and art work. It's $3 cash to get in, and there's an ATM located outside the high school and inside the flea market for your convenience. Buy some $5 sunglasses or haggle over chokers or side tables. Shop old film cameras and lenses for cheap. Find some succulents or air plants for your apartment garden. Everything you never knew you needed lives here. It's most definitely worth checking out!

Insane new space where you can take exclusive one of a kind selfies in amazing settings. If you are into modern, pop and/or street art - this is the spot for you. Located in the heart of Glendale, a couple of blocks from world famous Americana mall this museum is 10 000 square feet of tremendous photo opportunities. Strongly suggest you go there because sooner or later all of your friends will.

It’s impossible to talk about America without talking about Trump, unfortunately. The President has turned the First Amendment, you know, the one protecting the Freedom of Speech, into quite the hot topic. Come see this work of art, by local artist Matthew Heller, mounted on the side of a blue building (AKA Fabric Studios). Snap a photo with The First, share what it means to you with #firstforgood and the #firstamendment and tag @FabricStudiosLA to join the convo.

Down the street from the outside of Paddy's Pub in It's Always Sunny, this bar has a great vibe, great cocktails, and great music. What else could you want? It's super artsy with vintage decor. There is a mezzanine level but it's always rented out, so you're lucky if you get to check that part out. It's also mostly outdoor seating with heat lamps. OH and they have food, but to be honest I've never had it. But the menu looks bomb!

You must make a detour to get your ultimate LA photo in front of this bright pink and blue wall that says "CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'." It went up on the outside of the Chinese Laundry brand headquarters in early 2017 and I hope they leave it up for a while!

A bit small, yet precise museum for modern contemporary arts. they have a small collection (I'm pretty sure all from generous Getty) with some very interesting items. Exhibitions are in a separate room, showing you the most relevant artist of now. One ticket gives you access to this location and The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, only 8 min drive. Parking seems pricy, but the museum gives you serious deduction if you go to the right lot. The hole area of the MOCA is amazing and fun to walk around- Tall mesmerizing buildings with very interesting architecture not similar to most LA.

This is why I live in Los Angeles. I'm not here to be fancy. I burned my New York City suit lifestyle long ago. I get around on a skateboard. I can still do a kick-flip if you asked me to really try. Coming here gives you exactly what you need to feel when you are visiting the Westside of LA. Youth, grit, fun, art, and absolutely no affinity for being fancy.

Also known as the El Pueblo Historical District. It’s touristy to the max, but if you’re interested in eating, seeing and shopping authentic Mexicana, Calle Olvera as it's known in Spanish, is an authentically Californian place to experience. We started 2017 here on New Year’s Day, with a girlfriend of Mexican heritage, who was visiting from Switzerland. As we ran into the tail end of an indigenous Parade Procession we felt like we had been transported to a village in Central Mexico 100 years ago. Such a proud Community Celebration!

The LA County Museum of Art is the biggest museum in LA and consistently brings the biggest art exhibits to the city. As a local, in addition to the art, the LACMA campus has tons of events and food that make it a place to hang whether you actually step inside the museum or not. There's always a congregation of food trucks on the street out front, there's a seasonal Italian restaurant - Ray's & Stark Bar - with great wines that you can enjoy on the outside patio, classical music on Sundays, latin music on the lawn, jazz music during the summer, and more, so no matter what your idea of a good time, there's something for everyone.

Where art, experimentation and aroma meet head to head. Stuck in DTLA for a few hours with nothing to do (we know this would never happen, but hey)? Take a quick Uber ride to Chinatown, pop over to Blossom Vietnamese across the street, then head over to take any one of several perfumery classes such as: leather accord making, no pressure open blending sessions (bring a friend!), or the Noir LA Airbnb Experience. Don't forget to heed the advice of your teacher! Short, quick inhales means you'll interpret blends accurately AND be able to make it to the end of class sans headache. Highly recommended.
