150 acres of beautiful madness. This place has a chinese garden, japanese garden and tea room, an Australian garden, desert garden, rose garden, subtropical garden, fields where you can set up for a picnic, a room where you can reserve a table for "high tea", a huge library, a huge contemporary art museum, and I'm sure I'm missing a lot. It's a little expensive $20-$25 a ticket, but it goes to preserving the grounds, and is totally worth it.

An amazing place to spend a day, visit the gardens and tour the variety of different flowers and plants that change seasonally. Pro Tip, pack your own lunch and enjoy eating outside underneath the large maple trees

The Flower Market is for the early riser. Adjacent to Downtown and Skid row there is a massive warehouse that supplies all the flowers to every vendor in LA. For a small admission fee one can explore the hundreds of vendors and get a bouquet at wholesale prices. The smell is amazing. Really great resources for wedding planners or anyone planning their own wedding. I'd recommend the Flower Market and then venture over to Santee Alley.

Shop at…. Wasteland (upscale, trendy amazing selection of new and used clothing), American Vintage (wonderful for finding a costume or themed outfit, second hand), Cosmo and Nathalia (Lady Gaga-esque costumes, play dress up), Slow Clothing (revamped second-hand + costumes), Fred Segal (LA staple, a small department store), Urban Outfitters, and if you’re there on a Sunday, go to the Melrose Trading Post on Fairfax & Melrose ($3 cash admission) for the best finds (clothes, furniture, decor, etc). Pay a visit to the famous pink wall at Paul Smith.

Part flower shop, coffee shop, and fair-trade boutique. The decor and goods for sale are fresher than a peppermint. The place just makes you feel happy, and is ideal if you want to chill & connect to wifi for a few hours. The menu includes healthy meals + lavender lattes.

Consistently awesome food + beverage served in a light, bright airy space with indoor-outdoor seating. Superba Food + Bread is situated on a newly revived strip of Lincoln Boulevard dubbed "The Linc," and enjoys some seriously cool boutiques as neighbors. I would highly recommend carving out some time to shop before or after your meal.

So many shops, restaurants and bars in Old Pasadena. Great place to walk around, get some food and watch your wife or girlfriend shop all day. There's even a Patagonia so you guys have something to look at.

It's an upscale vegan restaurant, sleek and minimalist, however, expensive, especially since there are so many similar places in the area. But the food is great. Try not to sit inside, their patio at the back is awesome.

A huge market of incredible plants! Only open from the early morning to noon, this is a great place to get lost and accidentally buy $100 worth of plants. Yes, I have that problem. Get a coffee and oogle at all the pretty colors and ways you can redecorate your life.

As a vegan / vegetarian / crystal hoarder / affirmation loving flower child and always wished there was a safe place for you? Well, look no further. Here, everyone must reflect on their life, the soups warm your chakras, and everyone has a glow from never thinking bad thoughts caused by excessive quantities of Double-Double Animal Style Burgers. But seriously, it's kinda fun and really, good soup? Where can you find that?

Faith & Flower was on the Zagat's Guide: Most Stylish Restaurant in LA list, so last year my Husband and I had an anniversary dinner here, and I can't wait to make it a ritual. The atmosphere and decor are perfect for an intimate dinner. It felt like we stepped into the 1920's. Especially with the green glass nod to their popular Absinthe Tastings. The menu, which offers seafood and leans towards Italian was delicious. The service, personal & professional. You'll need to make a reservation if you want a table, but if dining alone, I suggest sitting at the long Bar where you'll meet a host of interesting local characters.

In the heart of downtown + fantastic city line views + tons of outdoor seating + great coffee = what more could you ask for? Nice coffee is aptly named for the experience you get every time you're there.

Opened in 2013 on Melrose Place (one of the cutest streets in LA), Alfred has taken the city by storm with several other locations throughout, including an Alfred Tea Room across the street. The shop is adorable, which is obvious from all the instagrams being taken in there, but the coffee itself is my favorite in the city. As an added bonus, it has a little shop in the back where there's a rotation of pop-ups selling everything from chic eyewear to chic chocolate. The whole situation makes for a cute experience whether you want to linger in the shop, enjoy your drink sitting outside or take the coffee to go and window shop on Melrose Pl.

LA native, Ray Garcia, has won many accolades (including Esquire Chef of the Year) for his modern elevated take on Mexican classics at Broken Spanish. Endive tamale with bechamel, refried lentils (amazing!), oxtail quesadilla, and bacalao queso fundido, the dishes are interesting, balanced, authentic, creative, soulful and delish all at the same time! They also have a selection of Mexican craft beers, and a long list of cocktails and wine rounding out the thoughtfulness that clearly went into the restaurant. Proximity to Staples makes it easy to catch before a game, or head to Caña Rum bar across the street for a post-meal drink!
