If you're looking to go clubbing some place that also has skyscraper views of downtown, look no farther. It's upscale and drinks are pricey, but the perfect backdrop for all your LA photos.

originally built in 1915. This bar was an original speakeasy back during the days of prohibition. Now it's just a regular bar with a basement you can drink in! Come here for cheap drinks and dark dance floors lit with red and orange lights. Also, check the schedule to see whats going on. Sometimes its a DJ or a band, and sometimes its burlesque.

Every Saturday they host an event called Dance Yourself Clean. If you dig music similar to LCD sound system then I can guarantee you that you will absolutely love this no-frills dance party. And yes, they always play Dance Yourself Clean at some point.

Every Saturday they host a dance party called funky sole. No frills, just a solid dance party pumped up with some classic soul music from the likes of James Brown.

Great go-to spot for dancing and drinks almost any night of the week. The front room is always hip-hop and the back/patio is usually a mix of things depending on whos djing. Definitely a great vibe!

This place is a great transition from dinner to dancing. You can enjoy a nice meal downstairs along with some cocktails and then head upstairs for more drinks and lots of dancing. Steak & Bearnaise and the salmon are great entrees to order.

You can get a few different vibes from this place. You can have dinner, cocktails at bar, chill outdoors (bring your dog), or hit the dance floor. Dancing on a Saturday night, catch a live band during the week, or vibe to some international disco on a Friday night. Discovered some pretty awesome bands at this venue, as well as some cocktails. They serve a mean spicy margarita.

Another great cocktail bar in Highland Park. My favorite nights here have been their Jazz Nights. I've also really enjoyed Friday nights here when they have a DJ. Bartenders are awesome and they make the best cocktails. Try the Penicillin.

Los Globos is the best place on planet Earth – specifically on Friday Nights. Every Friday Los Globos hosts 90s Club. It's perfect if you're in for a night of drinking, dancing, and throwbacks. They play everything from Aaron Carter to Hillary Duff to Britney Spears to Backstreet Boys to NSYNC to everything in between. Please go.

The Bungalow is so reminiscent of one of my favorite activities — house parties by the beach. This place is definitely a regular meet up spot among my group of friends on any given Saturday night, Sunday noon, or Sunday nights even! Its cozy aesthetic and fun outdoor area also make it a great "pre-game" spot for the rest of your day/night where you can play a game of pool or table tennis, or chat in the "library". It has a real local vibe, but you'll definitely find yourself meeting people from all over.

This is my favorite place to go and dance in LA. Even though last call in LA is 1:30, they stay open later so you can keep dancing the night away (albeit without more alcohol). They have two dance floors: general dance music on the first floor, and hip-hop on the second. The hip-hop floor is the best. There is a little patio up there, so you can head that way if you overheat, and the DJs are always on point. There is also a bar up there, so no need to head downstairs to refresh your drink. They also have a kitschy little photo booth (so you can take a fun picture to commemorate the night).

If you are looking for a slighty-seedy night on the town, check out Jumbo's Clown Room. It used to be a full strip bar (of Courtney Love fame), but now serves as a place to see some amazing burlesque dancers. The crowd tends to be a good mix of men and women, and most people are there to have fun and cheer at the dancers, not creepily ogle. Bring lots of cash so you can tip the dancers. The place itself is pretty small (not a bad seat in the house), so the line outside can get long. Either show up early, or make peace with the fact that you will have to wait in line.
