Located in Silverlake's Sunset Junction, this is a pretty solid place to get a cup of coffee. The Angelino is the perfect coffee if you're really dragging. Also the area is awesome, so I'd highly suggest grabbing some coffee, a pastry, and checking out the local boutiques and shops!

The ingredients are locally sourced and the original is from Santa Barbara. There are tons of ice cream places (Like Salt N Straw) that do crazy flavors that to me are just too much. Sometimes I just want a classic ice cream and that's what McConnell's is. Yeah they have their own selection of gourmet ice cream flavors too (Lemon and Marionberry is awesome) but it's just so freaking good. I get three sample scoops topped on one another in a sugar cone. Typically my combo is cookies and creme, mint chip, and chocolate covered strawberries. I need some now after writing this.

Located in the heart of the NoHo Arts District, this is a really great local coffee shop, with pastries, paninis, and grab and go eats with an art mural that changes frequently by local artists around town.

An all made from scratch restaurant and bakery with coffee by Peet's. Famous for its gooey cookies, which are gleefully called out as "fresh" often throughout the day. A wide array of baked goods and special soups are delicious comfort items. Panini and sandwiches are hearty and healthy. Plenty of options for vegetarians and some for vegans. Popular especially with daytime worker crowd as the café is open weekdays only, Mon-Fri.

My vision of an ideal day starts at Menotti’s Coffee Stop. The classic interior —subway tile, natural live-edge wood slab counters— provides a soothing contrast to the vibrant energy of the baristas. Don't forget to check out the secret menu discreetly hidden on the back of a portrait by the pastry case (that's right, just take the portrait off the wall and flip it over). I highly recommend grabbing coffee at Menotti's and heading around the corner to Eggslut for the perfect a.m. 1-2 punch.

Cool place to grab a coffee. Great selection of teas. Friendly staff. If you're looking for a good bite i'd go with the Avocado Toast.

Found out about this place on my birthday- I got a box of beautifully designed cupcakes with cool glaze and amazing sweet taste. Some might think it's too sweet but I think it's yummy. If you have a chance to walk by (they have other locations too) walk inside and feel how good those sweets make you feel.

After feeling like nothing will compare to my Israeli Bakery from back home, "Lehamim"- I found this gem. Cuban Family owned, they have anything you can dream of and its all carbilicious! There's always a line but it goes fast. My poison is their cheese rolls, so good.

Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is new to LA and was originally from San Francisco, where people would wait in lines for hours to try the legendary cruffin. It's worth it. In Highland Park (a few blocks from the excellent Civil Coffee), Mr. Holmes is bringing fresh pastries and sweet atmosphere to an already rad up and coming area. Don't miss out on them pastries. They also serve stumptown coffee if you wanna combine your breakfast-coffee fix!

Tucked away in the PLATFORM retail plaza in Culver City's Hayden Tract, you might find yourself waiting 10 minutes (or more) for that perfect cup behind their infamous drip bar, but its probably worth it! If you're here in the summer (or anytime its over 80 degrees in LA), skip the drip and make a beeline for the New Oreans Iced Coffee, made in the traditional NOLA style blended with chicory and just the perfect amount of sweetness. Scandinavian/Japan meets LA vibe. On the small side and definitely don't expect to work here (no wifi or outlets sorry!). This is no starbucks. Leave your screens at home and have a conversation with a stranger.
