Cash only. The best al pastor tacos in LA. They roast and cut the meat right in front of you. Like The Raiders of The Last Ark, you can't help but gaze into the awesome power of Al Pastor. Plus they also slice the pineapple into the taco so you get that both savoury and sweet.

Gjelina has been a trendy spot for quite a while. It's located on Abbot Kinney, the hottest street in Venice. Speaking of food - it's good BUT I prefer dinner menu to a lunch one, which is significantly smaller. Book in advance and ask for patio seating at the back, it's so small that without a special request you unlikely will get lucky. I know it may sound boring but they really do have the best and unusually delicious kale salad:)

You've probably seen pictures of Rihanna and Taylor Swift leaving this place and wondering if it is actually worth it. It is. The pasta dishes are TINY and you'll be praying your debit card goes through but if you are celebrating a special occasion or just wanting to ball out then this is the place. You can't go wrong with any of the risottos, pasta, or the fresh seafood dishes. The ivy-covered restaurant is tucked away on a street next to the PCH and is perfect for a date or a small group of people.

It’s an ATM. It dispenses fresh cupcakes. It’s a serious Instagram opportunity. Innovative AF. But if you know what’s good, head inside Sprinkles Ice Cream (next to the ATM). Order red velvet cupcakes mashed up in ice cream, go to heaven.

Love coming to this place when i'm craving some Argentine food. Friendly staff and great service. My favorite meal starts with a nice glass of malbec, the provoleta and chorizo. For my entree I go with the entraña al ajo. If you plan on driving there's valet or street parking. I'd recommend valet to avoid the headache.

Eating here is like eating at a late night Filipino barbecue party in that customers barbecue their own food! Simply fill out a form with what items you want (all of which are a dollar), and give it to the cashier. Once you get your food, you bring it to one of the many open grills and grill away! Very casual.

The interior of this place makes you feel like you're in Thailand — definitely a great photo opportunity. I'm talking plastic floral table covers, bright orange and pink walls, and hanging bead curtains. But of course, you need to come for the food! So many food personalities have enjoyed this place (ahem, Anthony Bourdain). Try their "world famous chicken sandwich", then take a photo with its sign for the gram.

LA is home to the most Persians outside of Iran and the Persian community has made a big impact on the culture and food of Los Angeles. Little Persia (now known as "Tehrangeles") is centered around Westwood Blvd where you'll find tons of Persian restaurants, markets and ice cream shops along the street. Flame consistently tops the list with it's organic produce, famous tanori bread, and menu of delicious Persian classics (the kashk-e-bademjan, zereshk, hummus and tadig are so good!). It's a traditional upscale Persian dining room with white tablecloths, so it feels like, what I imagine, having a business lunch in Tehran might be like.

Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo have taken over the LA food scene and each place they've opened (Son of a Gun, Trois Familia, Animal, etc) is worthy of being on this list, but my absolute fave is Jon & Vinny's on Fairfax. Besides having my favorite pizza in LA (named the "LA Woman") J&V also has the best Burrata I've ever had in my life, the best fusili alla vodka, the best meatballs, the best cacio e pepe, etc etc etc. Whatever you order, it will be good, even the wine which is curated from their wine shop in the back, Helen's. Plus they've got 90s hip hop blasting while you get after that pizza so it's pretty much my dream scenario.
