What are the Nairobi spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

The Nairobi National park. Imagine a game reserve in a capital city. One will get to enjoy a game drive under the sun and spot the Big 5 animals.

Do’s and don’ts in Nairobi: (Ex: Tipping: yes/ no, public transport tips, safety tips etc.):

Don't carry plastic bags as they are banned and when spotted with one by the environmental officials it will impose a fine. When around Nairobi its easier to get around the city when you have personal means i.e. car hire from tour companies or simply request an Uber. Public transport can be a hustle I don't recommend it. It is okay to tip but don't bribe.

What do you do and why do you do it?

I study Laboratory Medicine and am on my final semester. I love medical science and it has always been my dream to venture into healthcare. Besides that I run a blog after my love for fashion.

How much do you spend on an average night out on the town?

Around KES 5000 (50USD or 36GBP)

Which Nairobi shops do you hit up when you’re itching for something new?

For clothes: Woolworths, Mr. Price & LC Waikiki. Makeup: MAC, Lintons Beauty World or Super Cosmetics.

Your all-time favorite musicians:

Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Rihanna in that order. I also fancy some Chris Brown, Cardi B and Drake.

Which neighborhood is it best to experience during the day / night?

Runda. Located on the outskirts of town, its quiet and peaceful.

Where would you take a date for a romantic night out?

Safari Park Hotel - the ambience sets the mood and it's very classy too. May be a little expensive than regular restaurants but totally worth it.

It's freeeeezing out - what should a visitor do?

It doesn't really freeze here but when it gets cold a hot cocoa will do and definitely dressing warmly.

Your go-to brunch spots:

Artcaffe- With numerous branches across town, you will not be disappointed.

Your perfect night out in Nairobi includes:

Catching a movie at Imax then grabbing some dinner and hitting a lit club later on.

Which local creators do you admire?

Nancie Mwai- A fashion blogger and youtuber. she simply defines class and I really admire her.
