a bit about Briana

What do you do and why do you do it?

I do A&R at an indie label because I love discovering new music and reaching out to young developing artists. On the side, I do a million things like every other New Yorker – playlists brands, DJ, and freelance music PR, etc.

What TV show is a must watch?

Sex and The City.

What’s the best karaoke song of all times?

Glamorous by Fergie.

Which movie have you watched more than 3 times?

Billy Madison.

Have you ever cried while reading a book? Which one?

The Notebook.

Are you a planned or a spontaneous shopper? What’s your go-to store in New-York City?

Both, I love thrifting at Urban Jungle in Bushwick.

What’s the one place in New York that you’re sure only you truly appreciate?

Flushing, Queens because it takes maybe 2 hours to get to via train but it’s like a younger Chinatown.

What’s your dream job?

Running my own label with my friends.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Miami because it’s a quick and cheap ticket to escape to a beautiful beach year round.

Where do you go in New-York City if you have two hours to kill?

I love to just walk from my office in Soho to Chinatown. There’s funny tourist shops, hidden mini malls, and walking past Little Italy is always fun.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in New-York City but never actually do?

Walking from LES to BK on the Williamsburg bridge. I don’t get to do this enough because I’m always running around in heels but it’s one of the most satisfying things to do in NY.

Who’s your hero and where would you take them out for a bite or a drink in New-York City?

Julia Willinger, she was the first person to ever believe & employ me in music. I would take her to Juno because it’s one of the nicer cute date places in Bushwick that’s walking distance from my home.

If you were given a choice, mayor of which neighborhood in New-York City would you be?

What’s the place in New-York City you’ll never be caught dead in?

Pianos, not because it’s a bad bar or anything but I used to do coat check there when I was 19 and broke so I’m just traumatized by the entire experience. It is a great place to bring someone for a very packed blacked out LES bar.

Where do you and your drinking buddies meet for a casual night out in New-York City?

Commodore, you can hide in a booth or sit in the backyard with a fun frozen drink.

Where would you go in New-York City to celebrate the best news EVER!?

My girlfriends and I do this all the time because we’re so dramatic, either 99 Favor Taste ( 2 hours of hot pot and BYOB) or Kikoo Sushi ( 2 hours of all you can eat sushi & sake).

It’s a Saturday night and the mood is right – where do you go in New-York City to party?

Transpecos, China Chalet, Poppers – really depends on the weekend.

It’s your last day in New-York City – how do you spend your time?

I would get soup dumplings from Shanghai Cafe and meet my friends for tiki drinks at 169 Bar.

What’s the one place a first-time visitor in New-York City can’t miss?

A rave at Jing Fong or China Chalet because it’s become such a thing to see electronic music at a dim sum restaurant after hours.
