a bit about Chanel

What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a filmmaker producing my first project about Hip Hop in other countries, entitled Across Roads. Why I do it? Because I’m from the borough of two of the greatest rappers ever Biggie and Jay-Z, the city that gave the world Nas and Big Pun and the birthplace of one of the most influential music cultures. What else do I do? I eat because food is too good to miss out on. I also travel because I love seeing new places and getting homesick.

What TV show is a must watch?

Game of Thrones is a must watch, just get yourself through the first two episodes and I promise you’ll thank me or hate me later. Winter is coming!

What’s the best karaoke song of all times?

Bohemian Rhapsody is always a winner! Along with every 90’s R&B love song.

Which movie have you watched more than 3 times?

Beauty and the Beast, it’s a tale as old as time.

Have you ever cried while reading a book? Which one?

True Compass: A Memoir: Edward M. Kennedy. He’s my favorite Kennedy. Paul Mooney: Black is the new white. I laughed so hard, I cried.

Are you a planned or a spontaneous shopper? What’s your go-to store in New-York City?

Gyu Kaku Times Square, life-long friendships were fostered here and they have some bomb wings and garlic rice!

Seeing the world and discovering Hip Hop in places I wouldn’t imagine, guess I’m kind of doing that now. 🙂

Negril, Jamaica. Jerk chicken, beautiful beaches and rum punch, what else do you need?

Where do you go in New-York City if you have two hours to kill?

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in New-York City but never actually do?

Walk along the Highline Park, I’m convinced I do this all the time, but actually, only been there twice, le sigh.

Fort Greene section of Brooklyn.

What’s the place in New-York City you’ll never be caught dead in?

Hudson River, people actually go kayaking in it. How and why?

Mo’s Fort Greene, it’s a mix of old and new Brooklyn. It has gone from super chill to a DJ saving my life a few times.
