a bit about Jed

What do you do and why do you do it?

I'm a marketer and strategist, but really I try to make the world a more accessible place any chance I get. Whether that means bringing technology to those who could benefit from it, or accessibility to those who need it.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?

Serving food on a buffet-style line. Kids reach, point, and touch. People sneeze. They pull their plate away before all the food is on it. It gets really hot. Good experience, but brutal.

Were you born and raised in New York? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to New York?

I'm a Chi-town kid. Go Cubs! Moved to New York after college.

What’s your current hood in New York and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

I'm in Chelsea. It's walking distance to amazing food all around and you see puppies everywhere.

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?

I listen to random indie artists I pickup along the way. Ben Howard is a good example. I can't stand heavy metal.

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes. Hozier - Cherry Wine. On Repeat.

Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?

Entourage and Mad Men. Some of you wants to be every character in the show. And another part of you would vomit if you were anything like any of the characters in the show. Except Lloyd -- he's the shit.

Name some spots in New York that are good for a Tinder date.

Never been on a ~Tinder~ date but you should probably go to Souvlaki. It's casual and if your date sucks, you can be in and out pretty fast.

Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).

Snoop Dogg. He's a roasting legend and deserves to get lit up.

Who’s your hero and where in New York would you take them out for a serious hang?

My hero is Jonas Salk. He knew how to treat people. I'd chill with him in Flatiron Hall listening to some smooth jazz.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

I don't have any go-to stores besides The Quiet Life in LA. They make incredible shirts with great vibes. Everything else I just buy as I see it. Uniqlo for pants pretty often.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Upper East Side: there's no good reason to go there unless you're having dinner at a parent's house.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

Sit in central park on a sunny day and relax away from all the noise.

Where do you go in New York for a casual night out?

East Village where you feel like you're just mature enough to not be in college anymore.

Where would you go in New York to celebrate some freaking good news?

I love Souvlaki, so I'd go there. I'd go there any excuse I get.

What’s your choice of transportation in New York and why?

Subway or walk. If it's nice out, I'm walking. I don't care how far.

What are the New York spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Statue of Liberty. 30 Rock. Central Park. High Line. Times Square?

What are the New York spots tourists should run from screaming?

Times Square.

Tomorrow’s your last day in New York. How do you spend it?

Walking to my favorite spots in Chelsea then heading down to West Village and finally SoHo. Eating amazing food along the way with my friends.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

The ocean. I love cruises. Surrounded by water. Stopping on islands. That's my ideal.
