a bit about Nadia

What do you do and why do you do it?

I’m a finance & strategy consultant to social start-ups. I want to help companies do well while doing good to communities.

What TV show is a must watch?

How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Homeland

What’s the best karaoke song of all times?

Empire State of Mind (of course, you are in New York!), We are The World, Sweet Caroline, Hey Jude, Need You Now.

Which movie have you watched more than 3 times?

Just Friends, 10 Things I Hate About You, 50 First Dates.

Have you ever cried while reading a book? Which one?

Me Before You.

Are you a planned or a spontaneous shopper? What’s your go-to store in New-York City?

Definitely a spontaneous shopper. My favorite shopping spots scatter around Soho, Nolita, and Chelsea, where most of the enticing boutiques and craft-minded shops are.

What’s the one place in New-York City that you’re sure only you truly appreciate?

The Chinese food truck in front of NYU. While most of the students appreciate a cheap and good quick bite, I spent way more time here as the owners are actually from the same hometown.

What’s your dream job?

A sustainability designer.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Among the cities I have been, my favorite so far is Florence, Italy.

Where do you go in New-York City if you have a couple of hours to kill?

Any location of the New York Public Library would be great.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in New-York City but never actually do?

Citi bike. I did use the bike to cross the Williamsburg bridge once (it was…let’s say demanding but fun). I should do it more often.

Who’s your hero and where would you take them out for a bite or a drink in New-York City?

My parents are my heroes.

If you were given a choice, mayor of which neighborhood in New-York City would you be?

Queens. With Manhattan getting extremely crowded and expensive, Brooklyn has been rejuvenated in most of its neighborhoods. Now Queens has the most potential to become the next up-and-coming neighborhood.

What’s the place in New-York City you’ll never be caught dead in?

Financial district. Since I used to work around there and spent “too much time” there, now it becomes a place I avoid going.

Where do you and your drinking buddies meet for a casual night out in New-York City?

Somewhere around the meatpacking district, most likely the Tippler.

Where would you go in New-York City to celebrate the best news EVER!?

Probably will shout out the good news on top of Empire State Building.

It’s a Saturday night and the mood is right – where do you go in New-York City to party?

Dream downtown hotel.

It’s your last day in New-York City – how do you spend your time?

Just wander around west village and sit in Washington square park for a few hours, as this is the place I spent most of my time during school years.

What’s the one place a first-time visitor in New-York City can’t miss?

Central park. Mainly because it is too big to miss.
