a bit about Pavel
What do you do and why do you do it?
I was born a Graphic Designer and been successfully doing it for more than 12 years. I can stare on pretty things for hours with intense joy. I started with graffiti, then design, then calligraphy, video production, vlog, launching clothing brand – I can't help it.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?
I worked as a coffee boy in the restaurant and wasn't be able to talk to people at all. Stupid job.
Were you born and raised in New York? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to New York?
Originally, I'm from Russia. I moved to NYC when I was 23 and fall in love with this city... of course. But it wasn't an accident. I consider NYC as a father of graphic design and I was 100% sure that reunion has to happen.
What’s your current hood in New York and what’s the best/worst thing about it?
I AM THE HAPPIEST PERSON IN THE WHOLE WORD! I live in WILLIAMSBURG! I am deeply in love with this hood. Let me describe. Please imagine a bunch of prosperous creative people lives in the fast -growing place only 10 min from the noisy city. I'd say, this neighborhood created by creative people for creative people. Pluses: coffee shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, rooftops, concerts, fleamarkets, waterfront, happy folks. Minuses: none.
Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).
I love all people. Just some of them do not resonate with me.
Who’s your hero and where in New York would you take them out for a serious hang?
My absolute hero is Napoleon Hill. But he is dead. From those who is still alive, I'd like to take out guys from the Jungle band. I'd go to Black flamingo and Freehold in the same night.
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
80% of my clothing is from Scotch and Soda, the rest is mine )))
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
