a bit about Rebecca

What do you do and why do you do it?

I work in Fashion because you’ll find both the best and worst people in the world there.

What TV show is a must watch?

TV Shows are literally my form of bonding with other humans, so I watch a lot of it (the Holy Trinity of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO) and take all my recommendations from friends very seriously. Some of my all time favorites are Westworld, Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Outlander for something lighter I love That 70s Show, The Mindy Project, Red Oaks, Brooklyn 99 and Insecure. If I’m watching cable its gotta be Law and Order SVU.

What’s the best karaoke song of all times?

I karaoke-ed my first and only time to Ke$ha so probably anything but that.

Which movie have you watched more than 3 times?

I, Robot. If the movies taught me anything its that Will Smith will save my from any dystopian future (or Jennifer Lawrence).

Have you ever cried while reading a book? Which one?

Multiple times over Harry Potter. He just had it so hard.

Are you a planned or a spontaneous shopper? What’s your go-to store in New-York City?

I’m very much a ‘let’s just go in!’ type of person and would literally go into any sketchy side store to shiny high end labels stores that I’m mostly likely underdressed for. My favorite place to shop in NY is Soho hands down (though the best Zara is uptown off of Lex).

What’s the one place in New-York City that you’re sure only you truly appreciate?

The Garment District, its not pretty and always crowded with tourists, but having worked within the neighborhood and crossed it backwards and forwards it holds distinctive memories on every corner (good or bad).

What’s your dream job?

Anything that makes New York rent affordable.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Favorite city in the world would be London for me, having lived there for four years it will always hold a special place in my heart. I love vacationing in Amsterdam and Oslo, both are great cities with great coffee.

Where do you go in New-York City if you have a couple of hours to kill?

A cozy coffee shop with wifi and a bathroom.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in New-York City but never actually do?

I would love to make the pilgrimage to Queens more often. Still haven’t been to Moma PS1!

Who’s your hero and where would you take them out for a bite or a drink in New-York City?

Anthony Bourdain, and will be eating oysters and drinking Japanese whiskey at Autre Kyo Ya.

Where do you and your drinking buddies meet for a casual night out in New-York City?

Any dive bar on the Lower East Side.

Where would you go in New-York City to celebrate the best news EVER!?

The Standard’s rooftop for drinks

It’s a Saturday night and the mood is right – where do you go in New-York City to party?

Probably to see a gig at The Knitting Factory in BK.

It’s your last day in New-York City – how do you spend your time?

Eating: getting a pizza and a large iced coffee with a side of sushi.

What’s the one place a first-time visitor in New-York City can’t miss?

The High Line, Brooklyn Flea, and The New Museum are all great.
