What do you do and why do you do it?
I work as an Associate at a small Real Estate Development firm based out of Long Island City. I enjoy the fact that it challenges me on a daily basis.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?
Lucky for me, I haven't had a bad job (knock on wood).
Were you born and raised in New York? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to New York?
I grew up in Mumbai, India, for the majority of my life. I came to New York to work in Real Estate and pursue my passion for food and travel.
What’s your current hood in New York and what’s the best/worst thing about it?
My current hood in NYC is Hell's Kitchen. The best thing about is the ease of transportation and the worst thing about it is too many tourists.
What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?
Love listening to the Indie genre. I don't HATE any music, except if it is out right bad.
You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?
Mostly Commercial Indie music; specifically Phoenix, Oh Wonder, The Lumineers, and The Strokes. I'd throw in some Norah Jones a well!
Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?
Friends. Every episode makes me feel like I'm back to my childhood days in India.
Name some spots in New York that are good for a Tinder date.
I would use this as an opportunity to try some new places both have never been to. This way, if its bad, we can both bitch about it! If it is good, it becomes the spot to go to for any occassion.
Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).
Who’s your hero and where in New York would you take them out for a serious hang?
My hero is Anthony Bourdain and I would take him to the East Village to hang out in cool bars like Rue B and Kingston Hall.
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
J. Crew and random sample sales.
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
Cycling to Explore neighborhoods of New York.
Where do you go in New York for a casual night out?
Greenwich Village is always buzzing and has tons of options for a casual night out.
Where would you go in New York to celebrate some freaking good news?
It would be either Via Carota, Te Company or Dante.
What’s your choice of transportation in New York and why?
Subway or Citi Bike are my choice of transportation in New York. I feel its a bit more efficient and enjoyable that driving or taking taxis.
What are the New York spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
This can be a long list... but the short version of this would be to take them to spots in different neighborhoods. For example, Via Carota in the West Village, Marlton Hotel in Greenwich Village, Mailino in Gramercy Park, etc.
What are the New York spots tourists should run from screaming?
Anywhere near Times Square or Herald Square!
Tomorrow’s your last day in New York. How do you spend it?
I would probably pick a neighborhood and walk around. Maybe pop my head in a few places while I'm at it.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
My favorite vacation city in world would be Barcelona because there is so much character in the city, the food is outstanding, and the people are genuine.
