a bit about Armonie
What are you working on these days?
Armonie at Cafe CREAM at rue de Belleville I have many exciting artists trusting me & my agency in order to help them with their online communication. I also work on the opening a cool place in Paris, a barge called FLOW – the best spot for the summer (restaurant, rooftop, club and concert venue). I am also working on a startup which is dedicated to foreign artists. It’s called: BE MY PR. Being an entrepreneur is an exciting adventure!
What drives you mad these days?
All the cool parties taking places in Tel Aviv that I miss every week, being stuck in Paris. More seriously the lack of communication between people; when I walk on the french subway everyone is stuck on their phone, no one looks at each other. We are now afraid of each other. Come on people, let’s talk and smile, we are human beings, and there are so many cool things to discover in the actual world, forget your iPhone for 5 minutes!
What makes you happy?
When I can check a point on my personal to do list (YES I have 10 things to do before I turn 30). More than ever my nephews (dedicated to AKIVA AND OVADIA, if you guys read me in 10 years). EATING. Listening to good music. Making some meditation. Planning my next vacation…A lot of things make me happy.
When was the last time you cried?
When achieving one of my dreams: to see Stevie Wonder live. It was in London at Hyde Park, 4 hours of insane show, I’ve spent the first song “Love’s in need of Love Today” crying! People around me were like “ohhhhh sweetie” I wasn’t sad, that was real tears of happiness. It’s precious and no words can really explain that feeling.
What’s your latest musical obsession?
Last album of Tame Impala. IBEYI and their first album, I love them so much.“Views” the last Drake to twerk all summer. Stevie Wonder because it’s pure art, and Stevie always works with me. Jay Electronica. The next album of Balkan Beat Box (yes I have it already, I work for them). Roni Alter because this artist is delicious, I felt in love with her universe.
What was the last movie you watched? Was it any good?
Tonight, for the 10000000000K times : ‘BIG’ with TOM HANKS. My fav movie ever.
When it’s time for a new wardrobe, where do you go?
I must admit that, as a good product of digital age, I shop a lot online (Urban Outfitters, Nike, Samsoe & Samsoe, Fila, Zara…). But I also shop A LOT in many places in Paris. I can go around Place du Marché St Honoré and Rue St Honoré for some basics at American Apparel or some gadgets and cool tees at Colette. My last crush is the french brand HARMONY (yes I might be a bit egocentric) but this guy has created such a beautiful brand. I mix!
What’s your go-to café in Paris?
SEASONS: the food is delicious, the coffee too, the waiters are adorable, the vibe is cool, nice design and fresh juices. Perfect place for some friends meeting or professional ones.
What’s your favorite street or neighborhood to wander through?
All the 11, 10 and 3rd districts. Which means basically Le Marais and surroundings. I really love walking on La rue de Bretagne always lively even the weekend and by night.
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in Paris but never actually do?
Drinking a beer at the Seine’s edge. Making a cruise of Bateau Mouche on La Seine.
Who’s your hero (dead or alive) and where would you take them to show them a good time?
Stevie Wonder. My hero of all time. I would love to chill in Paris with him, just like in James Corden Carpool. I’ll bring him to a jazz bar such as Le Caveau des Oubliettes or Le Baiser Salé and beg him to make a little jam. Come on let me dream of a duet with Stevie Wonder!
If it’s been raining outside for days and you’re sick of staying in – where would you go?
Gym! My club is in Republique (Montana Club) and seriously when it’s rainy I have two options: watching series and eat chocolate or move my ass and go to the gym! (obviously regarding the numbers of rainy days in Paris I should be very skinny today…)
What’s that place in Paris you feel like only you know about?
La campagne à Paris. Small area in the 20th district. I grew up close to there and had a good friend living there. I love that area, it’s a cluster of houses full of green, out of time. I feel like no one knows it but me and it reminds me my childhood.
If tomorrow was your last day in Paris before you left for good, how and where would you spend it?
I would eat all day for sure. I’ve travelled a lot, but good food is mostly in France; so I would eat croissants. I would eat good cheese. And I would try to go to Le Musée du Louvre because I live in Paris for the past 29 years and never managed to find some time to visit that huge and mythical museum (shame on me). I need to see La Joconde before I leave.
Given the choice, mayor of which neighborhood would you be?
Le Marais! A real representative neighborhood of Paris, good shops, beautiful architecture, good spots for food & drinks. To me Le Marais is the heart of Paris. I just moved close so I do progress 🙂
What’s the spot in Paris you wouldn’t be caught dead in?
I rarely go on the west side of Paris. I must admit that CHAMPS-ÉLYSÉES is probably the kind of place you talk about. As mythical as it can sound: this is definitely not the coolest place in Paris. Nore the most beautiful. It probably use to be a magical place, which is not anymore.
You’ve just received the best news ever. Where would you go to celebrate and with whom?
Bar of Hotel Mandarin Oriental, with my family.
What’s the thing you love doing that isn’t work, relationship or family related?
Reading books about positive psychology (Tal Ben Shahar is for me, a great source of inspiration).
When you feel like a night out, what’s your go-to place and why?
My nights always starts with a live concert, or some good music. It’s obviously what makes me feel good. So a good night out should start with a good gig or DJ Set.
