What do you do and why do you do it?
I work in advertising as a brand strategist - I love figuring out how people's minds work and what makes them tick.
You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?
Stormy Weather by Billie Holiday and Jorja Smith's Project 11 album.
What are the best TV shows of all time?
I mean, GoT has to be a contender.
Name some spots in Paris that are good for a Tinder date.
Maison Maison on the Seine is a mini bar a vins at Pont Neuf. Start with aperos and wine, then you can decide where the night goes from there.
Who’s your hero and where in Paris would you take them out for a serious hang?
I'd love to take Steve Jobs to Les Grands Voisins and see what he thinks.
Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?
I'm a fan of the private sales in Paris and make an effort to go every few weeks. The Marais has the best combination of typical French brands and up and coming boutiques / concept stores. Finally, Montmartre and the 10th arrondissements have many boutique gems to scour.
What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?
I'm always up for exploring new areas but haven't really been to the 13th. I can't say I wouldn't be caught dead there until I actually check it out :)
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
I LOVE walking up the back way to Sacre Coeur and getting lost in the small streets on the way. There are cute boutiques, cafes and shops that distract throughout. And of course, the main attraction, Sacre Coeur is always a calming and breathtaking place to reflect.
What’s the most decadent / extreme dish you ever ate in Paris and where did you get it?
The most decadent meal I ever had in Paris was at Arpege. I never thought vegetables could make me so happy :)
Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Paris that you particularly like?
I love the speakeasy behind Da Vito, a non-descript pizza place in the 11th Arrondissement.
What’s the most expensive restaurant / spa / hotel you’ve ever been to in Paris? How much did it cost and what did you get there?
I sometimes treat myself to the Jetlag Treatment at the Mandarin Oriental Spa. For 250 Euros, you get a massage, facial and generous pampering :)
What restaurant in Paris looks crap, but the food’s amazing?
There is this little Turkish kebab joint in the 10th called Urfa Durum. It's nondescript and I've often passed it without even realizing it was there. There's always a line outside waiting for the most delicious agneau wraps I've ever had. They bake the bread fresh to order on the premises.
Where can you get the best cocktail in Paris? Which one do you like?
I recently discovered Tiger on Rue Princesse. They specialize in gin and tonic concoctions but all of their cocktails are delicious. I usually ask the bartender to surprise me with something of his choosing.
Where would you take your partner in Paris if you wanted to really pamper them?
I would pick up a pre-arranged picnic from Zia near Ecole Militaire and plan a sunset dinner at the Champ de Mars park in front of the Eiffel Tower. Simple but memorable.
Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?
I love duck rillette with a fresh baguette. It's my favorite apero and so difficult to find outside of France.
What’s the one place you think is overrated in Paris?
The Champs Elysees. It doesn't feel like the real Paris to me.
What are the Paris spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?
The Eiffel Tower / Champs de Mars, Trocadero, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Opera Garnier, Place de Concorde, Jardin de Tuileries, Marais, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter and Sacre Coeur. Hopefully they have at least 4 days!
Tomorrow’s your last day in Paris. How do you spend it?
In summer: with friends, having rose on the quai. In winter: hunkered down at a cafe in the Latin Quarter, under the heat lamps and enjoying some good wine and charcuterie.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
Hmm, most of my vacations consist of going to new places so I'm hoping I haven't discovered it yet :) BUT if I had to choose, I would say anywhere in Italy.
