You could enjoy all here; Art, Architecture, and Food around. This art museum is built in 2013 as an annex building of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Gwachen main location, the Seoul branch is located on the historic site of the former Defense Security Command offices. Wedged in between the old and contemporary architecture are sculpture parks, which are also utilized as outdoor exhibition spaces. You could enjoy eight different parts of the exhibition as well as a video library, movie theater, and a food court. Plus attractions around here. That's why I like to go there.

The Museum communicates with the public through modern art and design. They also organize a workshop and educational program in collaboration with artists. There are popular cafés and restaurants among young people located in the museum building. Their exhibitions are very popular among young people because they love strolling through the halls and become acquainted with all the art pieces. Taking photos with the art pieces is ok. It’s one way to feel connected with your experience there. You can get some inspiration from the creative design and energy of the place.

It's Seoul branch of National Museum of Modern&Contemporary. It has quite various range of Korean art collection. Especially, its temporary exhibitions tend to be very nice. Don't miss them! The outside installation is always good, too!

The museum is located in Deoksugung palace. I like to walk around this place to see the blend between the Korean traditional palace and the modern western style architecture. The museum has unique and historical context and I like it. Their exhibition covers Korean and Asian, and also worldwide modern art. The latest exhibition I went to is about Egyptian Modern Art and I love to broaden my perspective and mind through experiencing arts from different cultures.

Samcheong-dong is one of my all time favorite locations in Seoul to explore the artsy side of the city. There are heaps of unique coffee houses with some of the best views of the area, designer cakes and treats, but most of all is the ambiance which is not found anywhere else in Seoul. Samcheong-dong is filled with art from the decorated trees and fire hydrants, to the long list of galleries. It is a must see when coming to Seoul.

You couldn't find this space anywhere. You could spend your time experiencing uniquely here. It's a gallery but it's more than that. That's because the house is Korean traditional style and the exhibition is held naturally not like display. That's irony and attractive point at the same time. You could feel traditional emotion there. Before you get there, check first on this page below. https://www.instagram.com/hart_seoul/

An authentic contemporary art museum with a thought-provoking and cool collection in a beautiful building, which has been counted as one of the most important works in modern Korean architecture history. CI Kim, the director and collector is a prominent figure in contemporary art scene wordlwidely, for his decent (and coherently, rather grotesque) taste. He is also an artist himself. The cafe "Fritz" in an adjacent glass building serves one of the best latte in town (branch of The Fritz Coffee Company in Mapo)

A leading art gallery in contemporary Korean art scene, showcasing the works of highly reputed artists, mostly international or domestic. Each gallery buildng has their own original aesthetic, yet makes a great harmony all together. I love staring at outside through big windows at the lobby in K2, appreciating the weather of the day (sometimes more interesting than art works displayed inside). As a plethora of major museums (NFM, MMCA) and art galleries are nearby, this neighbourhood is culturally blessed. Literally, you will find a gallery at every corner. So, put your trainers on!

Once, I love to go to museum and gallery. Before my daugher was born, I dated with my hudsband at comtemporary art center. There are valuable galleries around the spot, which are held meaningful exhibition. Also, there are Hanok(한옥) town, cafe, Korean traditional food restaurants, and palace. Ordinarily, I do not go to museum shop, but here there are attractive stuffs a lot. Whenever I visited the museum, alway I brought something with my two hands. If you do not have enough time to travel Seoul, I suggest that you visit this spot.

When I first visited Gallery Factory, it was by an accident. I just stumbled upon this place. It's not like I planned a trip to here like I'd to MMCA or SeMA. But since then I've visited this gallery more than any others. And never have seen a boring exhibition. To name a few: a Hangul typography exhibition co-hosted by a Helsinki gallery, an industrial design exhibition by a studio which designed Olympics medals, and more. It's a small space consisting of two rooms though. On the second floor is located the office... and also a restroom :) Drop by MK2, a neighboring cafe, which is also on my map!

This is a museum but I go here to enjoy the cool space, the city view, and the great dessert. The space is designed nicely, and it's a breath of fresh air in this dense city. You feel like escaping the busy city for awhile. You can see the exhibition, but I recommend just chilling at the cafe and enjoy your confectionaries.
