a bit about Fredrik

What do you do and why do you do it?

Founder & Creative Director at SNASK Creative Agency. SNASK started as a vechicle of fun, and it's still precisely that.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?

I sold strawberries in a big mall in my hometown in northern Sweden. I had to wear a t-shirt in the size XXL(even though they asked me for my size and I replied S) and sell strawberries inside a sad shopping mall during a whole summer that broke the record in amounts of hours of sun. What a fucking shitty piece of job but hey, at least I misappropriated some cash in hand so I got something out of it.

Were you born and raised in Stockholm? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Stockholm?

I was born in South Korea with a twisted heart(yeah, it's turned backwards so EKG will show that I'm dead) but was adopted to Sweden at the age of 1,5 years old(to a big and great family). I grew up in the northern city of Borlänge(named Sweden's Chicago at one point and not because of it's high buildings). I came to Stockholm in 2007 after having done the military service for 10 months, done a 13 week shameful experience on a Greek island, studied 3 years of blabla at a University only to finally find my call and study graphic design in the UK for three years in a city that British people call: The arsehole of England.

What’s your current hood in Stockholm and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

Slussen/Mosebacke/Medborgarplatsen. Yeah, all of those places actually. Best thing is it's close to everything you want in a city; a vibrant pulse, great culture and night life and a good selection of restaurants. The worst thing would be that it's quite homogeneous in it's crowd consisting of a lot of trendy hipsters. On weekends most people would wear sunglasses(shades on mode) since you bump into a lot of people you know and a lot of people you know but you necessarily don't have the energy to stop and talk to. Anti social social?

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?

70's rockn'roll, normal rock, pop, electronic etc. I absolutely hate trance and I can't get into techno. I can listen to vocal house sometimes. I absolutely love karaoke and Stockholm has a few good options. Best songs: Bohemian Raphsody, Forgot about Dre and Don't Look Back in Anger. The two first needs some practice.

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Meat Loaf because he would do anything but not "that".

Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?

Twin Peaks - Needs no explanation. Seinfeld - It's real humor. GoT - You will learn how to snake people. Breaking Bad - C'mon, it's brilliant.

Name some spots in Stockholm that are good for a Tinder date.

Wow, this is hard. Do you want to hide away or go to a cool bar, because those two are not necessarily the same. I would go to NADA Bar, it's cool yet it has a darker room inside where you can hide if you're not certain. If you've met several times it's fucking time to step up. Go hit any cool bar and see how it feels going public. If someone takes you to Kungsholmen it means he or she tries to hide you away, a so called shamedate. Ask this person to fuck off unless you're the one trying to hide.

Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).

Wow, there are so many. Marie Le Pen and Donald Trump feels obvious as well as other huge assholes like Putin, Kim Jong etc. I think I would like to see every person who takes selfies getting roasted as often as they post them in social media.

Who’s your hero and where in Stockholm would you take them out for a serious hang?

I have a man crush on Ryan Gosling and I have no clue why. Perhaps because of a few cool roles. But it's boring. I would love to take Amy Schumer or Louis CK or Dave Chapelle or why not all three to a game of shuffle board and beers and end up in a game of Twister.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

I only buy fabulous clothes a few times a year. I would say Lewis Leathers, Deadwood, FilippaK(jeans only), Dr.Martens, Acne and BACK.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Old Town for sure. The only reason I would go there would be the fancy cocktail bars and it's always early in the evening so no chance to end up wasted in a pile of my own puke slowly drowning.

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

Eat dinner in a another persons home. I think it's the best way to get a feel for a city and a country. I almost never get invited to dinners at home. Why? I should definitely be accepted enough to bring home for a nice dinner. Gawwd.

Where do you go in Stockholm for a casual night out?

Casual? Hmmm, most definitely Södermalm. More specifically around Mariatorget, Nytorget and Slussen.

Where would you go in Stockholm to celebrate some freaking good news?

The same places as the casual ones. I don't really see a big difference. But hey, those fancy cocktail bars in Old Town then?

What’s your choice of transportation in Stockholm and why?

By foot is amazing and it's such a tiny city that it's super easy. Also you get slimmer which is good you pig. Other than that it's great to bike around even though I don't own one you can borrow one from the city for a cheap amount of kronors. But the most common choice is of course the subway since it's dead easy and very effective.

What are the Stockholm spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Södermalm, Old town(go there once, not twice), the archipelagos.

What are the Stockholm spots tourists should run from screaming?

Stureplan, the posh nightblubs and bars are located there and it's horrible most of the times. But if you want to see what the fake stereotype of Swede's look like, go ahead.

Tomorrow’s your last day in Stockholm. How do you spend it?

Go for a great brunch to wake up, somewhere in Södermalm. Hit up Fotografiska museum so that you at least did something credible. Take a long walk to get rid of some hangover fumes and then treat yourself with a present.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Wow, this is insanely hard. But I think NY will always be deeply rooted inside the walls of my heart.
