Stockholm is one big sweet pastry

There’s more to this town than cinnamon buns. The Swedish capital is a dream come true for those of us who live for desserts, with great pastries, ice cream, and other Swedish treats we have no idea how to pronounce — but luckily, we have cousins to teach us.

My favorite coffee shop! Get a large oat milk cappuccino (I get this every single time) and sit out on the patio and watch people go to and from work or stroll with their prams toward Vasaparken. I also recommend trying the kärleksmums cake or the kanelbullar (Swedish cinnamon rolls). If you're lucky and it's a Friday, a regular customer brings in homemade morotskaka (carrot cake) and it is the best carrot cake you will ever have the privilege of eating.

Ice cream is always a good idea! On Medborgarplatsen (we most often call it Medis) you find a little kiosk that have scooped ice cream and soft serve. My best taste combo is Polka and Saffran, or soft serve with tutti frutti sprinkles.

Are you wondering why so long a queue in a residential area? Do not wonder any more: join the queue! This is the best gelato in Stockholm. I don't mean an ice cream but a real "gelato" made the Italian traditional way with fresh real ingredients, no shortcuts.

A hole in the wall, best coffee and nice atmosphere. This place is probably the best coffeeshop in Stockholm, with coffee in the highest international quality ranks. The food and pastries are organic, locally produced and home made.

I love breakfasts and if I'm in the neighborhood I go to Ett Bageri for their delicious bread rolls with gruyere with olives. Be their early, otherwise the sell out.

A little ice cream stand open just during summer that serves Italian ecological high quality ice cream. Many say this is the best ice cream in Stockholm but I suggest you to try more than one place and then judge yourself which is the best one

This bakery is one of my absolutely favorite cafés. You can't order a latte or macchiato here, it's just plain brewed coffee. The serve breakfast, sell really good bread and the pastry (Canelé, pastéis de nata, cinnamon buns, Kougin Amann, croissantes etc.) is pure magic.

One of the best places in this city to have ice cream or gelato. Italian, cute and totally homemade. I would go for the lemon and vanilla flavour, the chocolate one is crazy good as well! Not up for gelato? They have this tiny little frozen pralines, also very good. One of the things I really like with this place is that it is never crowded, a lot of people but not crowded.

A Swedish pastry place as it used to be. Here you find the most classical of the Swedish traditional cakes, and they are made the proper way with original recipes. Try kanellängd, wienerbröd or small cookies and if it is right season (between Christmas and Easter) definitely try their semlor. You won't regret it!
