What do you do and why do you do it?
I am a strategist and a problem solver by day, with the world's vaguest job title: Management Consultant. My clients span all kinds of industries and I help them figure out how to get past a roadblock, grow bigger, go digital or sell new products. When I am not at my day job, I volunteer with a social enterprise as a Brand Strategy Lead. I do what I do because I love empowering others to realise their potential - and I learn something new every single day!
Name some spots in Sydney that are good for a Tinder date.
I would say Mary's in Newtown because it is nice and dark, and you have to get really close to be able hear each other. The outdoor cinema at Mrs Macquarie's Chair during summer is also an amazing first or second date spot.
Who’s your hero and where in Sydney would you take them out for a serious hang?
My best friend is one of my heroes. She works as a primary school teacher supporting some of Australia's most vulnerable communities, and she definitely doesn't get enough recognition for her dedication. We can be found roaming the cafes in Newtown, at the beach or driving out into the country with the music blasting.
What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?
There are so many amazing film festivals that take place in Sydney throughout the year - I should really make more time to check them out.
Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Sydney that you particularly like?
There is a fantastic hole in the wall type dumplings and beer place that I love...It's called Uncle Ming's Bar and it can be found through the other side of a suit store.
Where can you get the best cocktail in Sydney? Which one do you like?
I have to confess that I'm not big on cocktails, but Titus Jones in Marrickville has the perfect vibe, great bartenders and awesome music.
Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?
I am so allergic to chocolate but Tim Tams are a national favourite, and Vegemite is a bit polarising but worth a try!
What’s the one place you think is overrated in Sydney?
The beaches in Sydney are so beautiful, but tourists tend to just congregate around Manly or Bondi. I would definitely recommend making the trek to some of the smaller beaches if you want some downtime from the bustle of the city!
Tomorrow’s your last day in Sydney. How do you spend it?
Probably (maybe) wake up early and go for a jog from Bronte to Coogee, then go chill out with my best friends somewhere sunny. We'd try and bump into some street musicians. And then I would just spend the rest of the day eating.
What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?
I have been to some amazing vacation spots... Lake Tahoe in Cali, beautiful Rome, gorgeous Barcelona... I try not to vacation in the same city twice. I am looking forward to adding Prague and Berlin to my list soon!
