What do you do and why do you do it?

I am a Co-Director and Designer of a furniture and homewares brand called DesignByThem. We started the brand to promote Australian design locally and internationally. I love what I do and consider myself very fortunate to be able to be creative and to be surrounded by an amazing team building a platform for other designers.

What are the best TV shows of all time?

Super tough as there are so many but I am a big fan of Seinfeld, Game of Thrones, Last Week Tonight & House of Cards. Lately I have been getting into a few Korean TV shows and Japanese anime series as well.

Who’s your hero and where in Sydney would you take them out for a serious hang?

I am a big fan of Elon Musk - would keep it low key and go to Frankies for some pizza and beers.

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

I shop all over the place but if I was wanting to buy something a little more special Incu is always a good start.

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Nowhere in particular

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

I love the Bondi to Coogee walk but never do it.

What’s the most decadent / extreme dish you ever ate in Sydney and where did you get it?

I eat out quite a bit but every time I eat at Porteño I feel like I have to be rolled out of there.

Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Sydney that you particularly like?

There are so many. One of my favourite places to go for a quiet drink is Owl House and Jangling Jacks during the week. My late night coffee haunt is Cafe Hernandez which is open 24/7, is very small and usually filled with some pretty interesting characters at the times that I am going there.

Where can you get the best cocktail in Sydney? Which one do you like?

There are so many good cocktail bars in Sydney and they generally specialise in particular types of cocktails but I enjoy going to the Palisade in Millers Point.

Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?

I have friends from overseas who literally lose their mind when they can eat a Tim Tam.

What’s the one place you think is overrated in Sydney?

Darling Harbour

What’s the one place you think is underrated in Sydney?

I feel like many of the outer suburbs don't get as much attention by people living near the city but offer really great cultural experiences. They are often worth the journey. There are great pockets of concentrated cultures where you get a much less diluted experience.

What are the Sydney spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

Botanical Garden walk around the Harbour, Coggee to Bondi Walk

Tomorrow’s your last day in Sydney. How do you spend it?

I would go for a drink near the beach or the harbour. Not many cities offer this.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

This is tough as each place offers something so different... If I had to choose it would Tokyo.
