a bit about Amit

What are you working on?

These days I’m working at “Zohar Yakobson” actors agency where I am responsible for public relations. In my spare time I’m working on a new exhibition/fashion collection and mostly dreaming big.

What drives you mad these days?

The crazy Israeli heat. As a winter child, I really suffer during the summer. I can’t see sweaty people wearing flip flops and tank tops. It drives me crazy.

What makes you happy?

When my cat, Ruth, jumps into my arms when I get home; when my boyfriend smiles; when people say I have pretty shoes; and binge watching the Kardashians on Saturday morning.

When was the last time you cried?

The moment before I entered my first ‘Art Direction for Fashion’ course in London’s Central Saint Martin collage. I was so scared and stressed out in the beginning. And by the end of it I was crying from happiness.

What is playing in your earphones nowadays?

Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson, Petite Meller

What was the last movie you went to?

Me and my boyfriend watched “Inside Out”. It was one of the most aspiring and exciting movies I’ve ever seen. Pixar movies are always a good idea.

When it’s time for a new wardrobe, where do you go?

I love to shop online with my laptop in bed. I love “Opening Ceremony”, “Kenzo”, Net-a-Porter and Urban Outfitters. When I don’t shop online I like to buy basics at American Apparel and steal my boyfriend’s T-shirts.

What’s your go-to café in Tel Aviv?

When I was living in Jaffa I discovered “Casino San Remo”, which was a 5 minute walk from my house.

Where’s your favourite street or neighbourhood to wander in Tel Aviv?

My favorite neighborhood is “Noga” in Jaffa. Located between Jaffa’s Flea Market and Gesher Theater. it has a special charm and atmosphere, almost European. I love to grab a cup of coffee at “Cafelix” and sit on the bench in front of “Gelada” T shirt studio. Gelada has an amazing variety of designer T shirts. if you get a chance to visit there, ask for the owner, Yaron. He is a great guy and an expert at helping people find their prefect shirt.

What do you LOVE to do in the city but never actually do?

I Really love art. We have amazing art in Tel Aviv: lots of cool galleries and amazing exhibitions of local artists. Every time I go abroad, I check out exhibitions and galleries. But unfortunately, I don’t have time to do it in Tel Aviv. I really want to go to the Tel Aviv Museum in the near future.

Who’s your hero and where would you take them out to eat or drink in Tel Aviv?

Alber Elbaz is like a superhero to me. He is a big inspiration in my life. He grew up in Morocco, moved to Israel, studied fashion in Tel Aviv and then left with 2 suitcases and 100 bucks to conquer the fashion world. I have so many questions for him, I really don’t care where we go. I probably wouldn’t eat anything, but just sit and listen to what he has to say.

What would make a perfect day in the sun for you?

My perfect day would start at “Da Da & Da” on Rothchild boulevard. From there I’d get a taxi to the Luna Park and go on all the scary rides. In the evening, dinner at “Herbert Samuel” restaurant with an ocean-view table.

It’s raining for days and you’re sick of staying at home – where would you go?

In that case I’d prefer going to an indoor area, somewhere I can shop for clothes and drink coffee, but it can’t be a shopping mall. So I found the prefect “Sarona Center” – historic Temple houses transformed into Fashion shops and restaurants. Sarona also has a big indoor food market. You can find everything in there: Seafood, Organic Veggies & Fruits, Restaurants and a lot more.

What’s a place in Tel Aviv you feel like only you know about?

My secret spot is Loveat Cafe’s backyard garden. It is located on Nahalat Binyamin St. I have a special table that is saved just for me. In fact, no one ever sits there when I arrive for my daily coffee break. I always get the best ideas and muses when I’m there.

What’s the place in Tel Aviv you’ll never be caught dead in?

Probably Azrieli Mall, the Opera House area (the beginning of Allenby St.) and Dizengoff St. Bars. Not my cup of tea.

You’ve just got the best news ever. Where would you go to celebrate and with whom?

I usually celebrate good news with my boyfriend at “Cafe Noir” Restaurant, where we always get our favorite: veal schnitzel and white wine.

What’s the thing you love doing that isn’t work, relationship or family related?

Chilling on my couch at home and dreaming big about creating art and fashion by setting new goals to myself.
