a bit about Bar

What are you working on?

Developing a new seasonal cocktail menu for my bar.

What drives you mad these days?

Local politicians, religious fanatics, rude people, car horns.

What makes you happy?

A good tune, a good drink, a smile from a happy person.

When was the last time you cried?

Not a big crier, last time was when my dog died in my arms. Don’t care to think about it much.

What is playing in your earphones nowadays?

A$ap Rocky, Phoenix, Hot chip.

What was the last movie you watched? Was it any good?

Seen Entourage the Movie and Ted 2, both kinda sucked. The last good movie I saw was the spanish film Wild Tales.

When it’s time for a new wardrobe, where do you go?

Story is usually good for shoes and accessories, Trash for t-shirts and beachwear and Lightwave for cool, cheap jeans.

What’s your go-to café in Tel Aviv?

I have a few near my house. The Landwer in Meir garden is nice and pastoral, Café Masada has the perfect sea view and a nice breakfast and Shneor café is that easygoing neighbourhood café.

Where’s your favourite street or neighbourhood to wander in Tel Aviv?

Going through Kerem Hateimanim neighbourhood. I have a dog so I do spend some time walking around. She loves the beach, so at nights we sometimes just wander on the beach either going north or south, that’s probably my best option.

What do you LOVE to do in the city but never actually do?

Dance. I used to do that alot when I was younger but somehow it faded away. I would love to have that feeling again.

Who’s your hero and where would you take them out to eat or drink in Tel Aviv?

Izhak Rabin is my hero. He is the last leader that had balls to do something to better this country and try to bring peace and stability. I would take him to eat at the Brasserie which overlooks the place he was murdered at.

What would make a perfect day in the sun for you?

Secluded beach, beautiful girl, light meal, afternoon delight, good movie at the cinema, drinks and a good night sleep.

It’s raining for days and you’re sick of staying at home – where would you go?

Thai House. Their pork soup is to die for on cold days and you have the bonus of watching the rain falling over the sea – which is right near the restaurant – that makes it all the more beautiful.

What’s a place in Tel Aviv you feel like only you know about?

There are no secret places in Tel Aviv that are known just by me. I like to think that if there is a place for you, you will find out about it. It’s too small a city to keep secrets.

If tomorrow was your last day in Tel Aviv before you left for good, how would you spend it?

Friends, beach, hummus and skewers at Zika in Jaffa, playing frisbee, and going for drinks at my favorite bar, my bar, the Imperial.

If you were given a choice, mayor of which neighborhood would you be?

The heart of Tel Aviv.

What’s the thing you love doing that isn’t work, relationship or family related?

Drumming – a recent hobby which is my escape from reality. Still not good but I’m enjoying it immensely.

What’s the place in Tel Aviv you’ll never be caught dead in?

Mega clubs, Valium, Clara, Morfium.

When you feel like going on a night out, what’s the first place you usually consider going to?

There are many different answers and all depend on with whom and what’s the occasion.

You’ve just got the best news ever. Where would you go to celebrate and with whom?

My close friends at a house somewhere and my partners at our bar.
