a bit about Ofer

What are you working on?

I’m Head of Design at a startup that specializes in Bitcoin services and technology.

What drives you mad these days?

Inequality, cynical leaders that work against their people, bullshit.

What makes you happy?

Music, Alcohol, nicely designed things, well written TV shows, my two cats.

What is playing in your earphones nowadays?

Papa Was a Rodeo by The Magnetic Fields.

What was the last movie you went to?

Mad Max – Fury Road. It was awesome!

When it’s time for a new wardrobe, where do you go?

Uniqlo (Sadly, not available in Israel). Asos.

What’s your go-to café in Tel Aviv?

Where’s your favourite street or neighbourhood to wander in Tel Aviv?

Neve Tzedek.

What do you LOVE to do in the city but never actually do?

Have a lazy morning with a long breakfast in a nice café and then go to the museum.

Who’s your hero and where would you take them out to eat or drink in Tel Aviv?

Jon Stewart. I’ll take him for dinner at Catit because it’s the best restaurant in Tel Aviv by far. Then later to have a drink in one of the hipster bars in the south Allenby area, just to make everyone freak out.

What would make a perfect day in the sun for you?

I’m not really a sun person but I guess a walk down the boardwalk to Jaffa. Have brunch at Mantaray and then go walk around Jaffa’s old city and the market area and then to the port.

It’s raining for days and you’re sick of staying at home – where would you go?

Tel Aviv Museum.

What’s a place in Tel Aviv you feel like only you know about?

Galbi restaurant in HaCarmel market. It’s just a tiny place with home cooked food by Anat, the owner. Everything is delicious – especially the vegan dishes.

If tomorrow was your last day in Tel Aviv before you left for good, how would you spend it?

I’ll wander around town from Jaffa to Florentin, the city center and then back home in the ‘old north’ and stop in all the places I like on the way.

If you were given a choice, mayor of which neighborhood would you be?

The city center, Allenby and King George streets area.

What’s the place in Tel Aviv you’ll never be caught dead in?

Romano, Mendalimos, The Cat and Dog.

What’s the thing you love doing that isn’t work, relationship or family related?

When you feel like going on a night out, what’s the first place you usually consider going to?

It used to be Har Sinay, but it was closed lately so i’m looking for a new place. Second in line is The Rokoko.

You’ve just got the best news ever. Where would you go to celebrate and with whom?

Plug-In Karaoke in Habarzel St.
