I worked at this contemporary art gallery for four years, and I'm still very connected with its amazing team and artists. This is one of the most established galleries in Israel, founded in the 80s and working with both Israeli and international artists. They are participating in important Art fairs, like Art Basel and exhibitions around the world. The gallery itself is spectacular: 3 large spaces in a building from the 70s in the up-and-coming South Tel Aviv. Dvir, who is the founder of the gallery, curates most of the shows, and has a very specific taste and line, minimalistic and conceptual and always very powerful and poetic. A MUST!

Located on my favorite boulevard, this gallery has been around for over 20 years and represents top Israeli and international artists. They have two spaces, one dedicated to their artists and the second to emerging ones. I love this gallery for its program and also for the space which is a beautiful international-style building. Don't miss!

Ramon Yariv, the owner and curator of the Gordon Gallery, has exquisite taste in art and widespread knowledge which makes this gallery to the most interesting one in town. The gallery is located on the street corner of Ben Yehuda and Gordon, and it's always interesting to see what's showing there. The gallery shows almost only local artists that have already win their reputation, and rightly so. You should get updates on the website as to what is showing there, and if it is indeed open. Gordon Gallery is so close to the beach, you can drop by and see what's showing there before you give yourselves away to the sun. if you're into a more profound visit, go to the nearby Gordon Gallery 2, its younger, smaller sister – both in art and in size. On Thursdays there are sometimes fancy show openings, you can check online to see when there should be one, and come mingle with the local artists, drink some cheap wine and snack on some cheese.

Under a Thousand Gallery offers an insight into Tel Aviv’s art scene. It hosts many different young and intriguing artists. Don’t expect a single artist exhibition - it’s usually a group show around a basic theme. You could buy any of the art pieces there, and it will cost less than 1000 dollars! Check out the themed nights with lectures or dance shows - they’re usually advertised on the gallery’s Facebook page. When you are done, you can proceed to a walk around the nearby Florentin neighborhood.

A great contemporary art gallery with Israeli and international artists. I love the gallery’s space and location. It’s not large so you can just pop up for a short visit and hang around the area.

This is a new pottery gallery, owned by a good friend of mine. It’s a gem, and popping in there is a must. In addition to it being a gallery, it’s also a pottery studio and a shop. Beautiful pieces, great shows and a calm and comforting vibe. Go here on a Friday morning or afternoon and take a look at the artwork; maybe buy a few mugs or bowls or plates. You’ll also be welcome to take a seat, smoke your cigarette and drink a cup of coffee. You’ll meet cool and interesting people, for sure.

Chelouche Gallery is located at the City's center and brings great exhibitions of Israeli and international artists. It's pretty big for A Tel Aviv gallery, and is located in a very special ancient building. Go see the latest exhibition, drink coffee at the cafe located on the first floor, Bookworm, a book shop and cafe, and then walk around the beautiful building and its surrounding garden.

A cooperative gallery of excellent artists. Thursday evening are opening nights. Stroll around this area and you’ll find on the same building block many different galleries. Check them all out, drink their wine, and finish at A La Rampa for dessert.

The Teder is a pop-up bar, which means it is only open for a short period of time. It’s been running through the summers for 6 years now. Last year it was a traveling pop-up and went from one secret spot to another, every 10 days. AndreyAndShay (yours truly) design their furniture so they can load everything onto a truck and travel between the locations during this adventure. Our advice is to arrive close to the daily opening hours because the place can get crowded and you would want to get a seat. It’s one of those casual, open-air events so the main drink is beer with a few chasers of whiskey or arak.

Photography is usually an underrepresented or otherwise misrepresented art in galleries, and there’s been a positive awakening of the field in the past few years. This gallery is co-owned by several professional photographers and holds good art shows. Just come and see the art! The artist(s) is/are usually around to talk to visitors and discuss/explain the work and the concept of the gallery. You can also visit the art space across the street, Rosenfeld gallery and the “triangle” gallery that are all located nearby. And of course, finish your gallery tour at A La Rampa!
