a bit about Kristina

What do you do and why do you do it?

I’m an architect, working in property development. I always loved sneaking into construction sites on the weekends, when no one was working there. After working as an architect in Shanghai for a year and a half, I decided to go into development to spend more time realizing, rather that planning.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had and why was it so effing bad?

During my architecture studies, I got sick of internship salaries and worked for a catering firm for a couple of months. The loan was good, but it got frustrating how often I spilled liquids over guests’ laps.

Were you born and raised in Vienna? If not, where did you grow up and what brought you to Vienna?

I grew up in St. Pölten, a small city an hour from Vienna. After high-school graduation, I left Hotel Mama, as we call it, to study architecture in Vienna.

What’s your current hood in Vienna and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

I live in district 7 (called Neubau), where I dreamed about ending up when I first moved to Vienna. It’s pricey and not the greenest area, but living next door to all your friends and being able to grab a quick dinner is worth the rent. Also, with my job requiring wearing business clothes during the day, living in Neubau makes me feel like there’s still a bit hipster left inside of me.

You’re broken hearted – what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Pat Metheny’s “last train home”.

Name the best TV shows of all time, and what makes them so good?

I went crazy over HBO’s The Leftovers. Every season has it’s own flair and Jennifer Aniston’s guy kicks ass as the main character.

Name some spots in Vienna that are good for a Tinder date.

Ha! I’m an expert on that, which my boyfriend won’t be happy to read. Figar it great, if there’s a chance you’ll have something to talk about. Otherwise choose Die Parfümerie.

Which public figure would you want to see “roasted”? (every public figure is fair game).

Erm, Trump obviously!

What’s your choice of transportation in Vienna and why?

Bicycle! Vienna has a great cycleway-system.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

Lisbon – I’ve never seen light as strong as in Portugal!
