What do you do and why do you do it?

I work as a drama teacher. I love working with children and watching development in confidence and talent first hand!

You’re broken hearted - what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Anything by Jhene Aiko, Bon Iver, or Banks

What are the best TV shows of all time?

Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, The Office

Name some spots in Wellington that are good for a Tinder date.

Midnight Espresso, Sweet Mothers Kitchen, Golding's

Who’s your hero and where in Wellington would you take them out for a serious hang?

I have many Hero's, but to choose one I would say Ru Paul, and I would take him to Counter Culture so we could play a cool board game and hang out. Then, we would hit Ivy for Wednesday night Karaoke!

Where do you buy those fabulous clothes of yours?

27 Names, Paper Bag Princess, Area 51, David Jones (if I'm feeling extra fancy) and Thrift

What’s the area/ spot in town you’ll never be caught dead in?

Probably the Establishment, as it's a crappy fresher bar

What’s the thing you LOVE to do in your city that you never get to do?

Go snorkeling out at Island Bay! There's a massive marine reserve out there, and many beautiful walks.

What’s the most decadent / extreme dish you ever ate in Wellington and where did you get it?

I once ate Teriyaki Eel at Arashi Kushiyaki Bar. It was very chewy!

Is there a hidden bar / hole in the wall in Wellington that you particularly like?

Hawthorn Bar and Viva Mexico.

What’s the most expensive restaurant / spa / hotel you’ve ever been to in Wellington? How much did it cost and what did you get there?

Hippopotamus restaurant! It was delicious, and incredible decor. I got the La Balade De L’Océan which was a full seafood dinner for $48.

What restaurant in Wellington looks crap, but the food’s amazing?

KC Cafe, and Cafe Mena's! I'm usually not a fan of Chinese food, but KC Cafe has the best Chinese in the city! Cafe Mena's may look rundown on the outside, but it is the best Vegetarian Restaurant I've been to.

Where can you get the best cocktail in Wellington? Which one do you like?

The Library or Mexico! (lucky they're around the corner from each other). They also have amazing decor, and I would choose The Goldigger from the Library and Motel Zombie from Motel (they light it on fire!)

Where would you take your partner in Wellington if you wanted to really pamper them?

I would take them first to Boulcott Street Bistro for some delicious food, and then to Spring Spa for a massage and facial.

Which snacks can you only get in your country, and which ones do you recommend?

L n' P, Hokey Pokey Ice Cream and Whittaker's Chocolate are all good places to start. We also have the best craft beer and coffee here in Wellington, so live it up while you can!

What’s the one place you think is overrated in Wellington?

Cin Cin. The food is good, just not for the price.

What’s the one place you think is underrated in Wellington?

The Hive! It's a bit of a drive out to Eastbourne, but the food is delicious, the cafe is adorable, and the staff are super friendly! And there's a beautiful village and beach out there to visit after your meal.

What are the Wellington spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

The nature in Wellington is something many people overlook. So the botanical gardens, Scorching Bay, Eastbourne, West Winds Recreation Centre, Island Bay, and Oriental Bay are all beautiful places to explore and soak up the sun.

Tomorrow’s your last day in Wellington. How do you spend it?

Depends on the weather! If it's a sunny day, I would spend it sitting on top of the boatsheds near Oriental Parade, and riding one of the crocodile bikes around the waterfront. If it was windy and awful I would spend the day exploring Te Papa and the Art Gallery, then finish it eating at the cafe inside of the Art Gallery: Nikau.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

London! Because you can't beat the beautiful architecture and the theatre, and there's always more to do on every return visit.
