a bit about Gina

Were you born and raised in Zurich?

Born and raised.

What’s your current hood in Zurich and what’s the best/worst thing about it?

I grew up in Zürich Höngg. After my apprenticeship I moved to another hood in Zurich, but I really missed it. After a few years I moved back here with my boyfriend. What I love in Zürich Höngg, you’re so close to the nature, you’ve got a nice view of the Waidberg (Local Mountain). I really love the beautiful landscape. You’re also close to the city, to the different hotspots.

What kind of music do you listen to and what kind of music do you absolutely HATE?

I often listen to singer-songwriters, classic movie themes, oldies (from the 20s, 30s, 50s and 60s)Bluesrock, but that depends on my mood. What I don’t like is local Folk music (Yoddel), and Trance, most music without real instruments.

You’re broken hearted – what tracks does your heartbreak playlist consist of?

Falling slowly (Glen Hansard), Shape of my heart (Sting), Fix you (Coldplay), You’re Song (Elton John), 9 crimes/ and Delicate (Damien Rice) and many more.

Name the best TV shows of all time.

Definetly Scrubs, I love this TV Show, because of the great characters, the great dialogues, and the lovely stories. And I almost forgot the great music in it.

Know any spots in Zurich that are good for a Tinder date?

Haha thats funny. I guess the old botanic garden downtown (local, different ways in and out), Bars at the Langstrasse (same, local and different ways to go and leave).

What’s your choice of transportation in Zurich and why?

Downtown you should walk, or take a tram a bus, or a train (many stations to get in and out, very often during the weeks, on the weekends there are also Nightbuses to get you home), there is also a ship, which goes through de Limmat (River) to the Lake of Zurich.

What are the Zurich spots a first-time visitor can’t miss?

To get a view, go to the local mountain (800m) called Üetliberg, or the smaller Waidberg. Sometimes, if the weather is on your side, you’ll see some bigger mountains behind the lake of Zurich. The old town (called Niederdorf, Oberdorf and Old Town), Lindenhof (Nice view to different churches, and the river). But it’s a little bit touristic. Hardbrücke (Frau Gerolds Garden to eat in an Urban Garden area, sometimes there are markets), Viadukt (Take the Tram 13 to Dammweg, Market Hall, Shoppingstores, Restaurants), and many more. Fritschiwiese (local parc, with nice atmosphere). Letten (behind the Landesmuseum/ZH Mainstation) next to he Limmat (river), just to chillout, and refresh yourself 😊

Tomorrow’s your last day in Zurich. How do you spend it?

I guess would go for a walk in the city with my boyfriend, eat a tasty brunch and drink a nice tea.

What’s your favorite vacation city in the world and why?

I really love the north, Scandinavia, or Scotland, or the North Sea Island, I was once in the Caribbean sea on 2 Islands.
