In short: A fantastic contemporary art venue in the Old City which promotes the activity of Palestinian artists with new exhibition, concerts, art fairs etc!
Further explanation/history: Al Ma'mal means 'factory' in Arabic, and this gallery was transformed in 2003 from an old tile factory that was active until the 70s. It still has elements within it's architecture that allude to this, like an old tile polisher that is now the base of a spiral staircase, and ruins underneath the glass floor from 500 C.E. Whenever I go, I end up staying for at least an hour because the space is so inviting and cool. They also have an art library!
