Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and received city rights in 1342 and grew into an important trading city in the Golden Age. The canal houses in the center of Amsterdam are still reminiscent of this glorious time. The ring of canals, the part of the inner city that lies along the four main canals, got a place on the World Heritage list in 2010.
The center of Amsterdam has many attractions, including 85 museums. One of them is Amsterdam Pipe Museum.
At the Pijpenkabinet you will get a sense of the history of pipe smoking on five continents. They have pipes from as early as 500 BC!
