The Ballard Farmers market is my favorite of all the markets in the Puget sound area (and we've gone to a lot of them). It runs year round so you can go to it every Sunday from 10am-3pm. If you go during the spring you'll find tones of fresh flowers, and as you get to summer and fall the stands are overflowing with fresh local produce. There's honey, meats, bread, food carts, and artisan work as well. It's fun to walk around whether or not you plan on shopping, but if you do want to get some groceries it's less touristy than Pike Place with better prices.
