• Before living in Asia, I had this image of Asian cities full of Buddhist temples, with monks at every corner of the city. I was wrong… Don’t expect to see this in Seoul. This is not Kyoto (Japan). Nevertheless, you can still visit a few temples in Seoul. My favorite one is the Bongeunsa temple. Located next to the shopping mall Coex, this temple has a nice park to walk around. A huge statue of Buddha was built there. Unlike many Buddha statues in Asia where the Buddha is sitting (at least the ones I saw in Hong Kong, China, or in Japan), this Buddha is standing.
