Amsterdam's bos is the massive park/forest in the south west edge of town (bos means forest in Dutch). A real piece of straight up nature, it has tons of beautiful bike routs, picnic areas and a very big lake. The Bosbaan is the rowing course, built sometime in the 1930's and still is used today for all rowing teams in the area. There are benches scattered all around and the scenery is pastoral and relaxing. If you wonder where the golden age painters got their inspiration - this is certainly the spot, because biking or strolling there feels like jumping into a Monet painting.
