Florentin is a neighborhood in South Tel Aviv. In the last 20 years it has gone through a huge development process. Young artists who couldn't afford living in the center moved to Florentin due to low rent prices, and brought their friends, studios, cafes and dogs with them. The dark neighborhood turned from a spot for homeless people to spend the night, to a colorful, sunny and attractive place. Even though Florentin has changed, you can still see clear marks for its earlier days. Street art is one of them. With very little effort, by going online you can find different options for these unusual Telavivian walking tours and just choose the one that works best for you.
I like walking around Florentin’s streets with my shopping trolley. I love Levinsky Market - that's where I buy all kinds of spices, lentils. beans and other legumes. After shopping, I would sit at a cafe, on a chair facing the street and enjoy the colors and sounds of this one-of-a-kind neighborhood.
